Member titles

What are your ideas for some new member titles......we are thinking about changeing some of them maybe......give me some ideas ( keep it nice, lol)
Here is a list of the titles we are using now and the required number of posts. Your thoughts?

Guppy	5
Minnow	10
Keeper	25
Slabmaster	50
Slabmaster II	100
Trophy King	200
Trophy King II	300

You know what, "G" .... I never really cared for, nor understood the need for those titles. My vote is to replace them ALL, with something simple ... like : Member since XXXX

If we really, totally, absolutely have to have a title series ... how about we simplify what we've already got (& most are accustomed to) ?? Something like :

Minnow - 1-100 posts
Keeper - 101-200 posts
Trophy - 201 - 500 posts
Master Angler - 501-2000 posts
Elite Angler - 2001 - 5000 posts
Legend - over 5000 posts

(most people quit caring about their "title", after the first 100 or so posts .... anyway)

I like that idea. It would be nice knowing how long somebody has been a member instead of having to look inside their profiles to find out.

I don't see how post count qualifies one as a good angler. Maybe "Master Poster" or "Elite Poster".

Quite right, Major !! Which is one reason I see no real need for a "title" at all. (MOTY & Mods excluded, of course)

It does a couple of things like let you know who participates daily and such. One thing I look at is all along someone post that has a low post count but has been a member a fairly good while, they dont say much unless they have something to add that is beneficial. Then on the other hand they post alot with nothing beneficial, I like having the post count but care less about what mine is.

Right you are, RG .... but, in my case (as well as several others) that date is incorrect. I was the only Moderator of the whole site, almost four years prior to 2004 (I joined in 2000). This format is like the 3rd or 4th MAJOR format change, even since I've been here ... and the post count & posts, from those previous site formats, are gone.

Any how, I see other's postings about they reach a new level... But when I post it becomes a real issue with some of the finer "G"ewbers on here... I don't give a rats behind about post counts either... I'm going to post anyhow..... As much as I want..... I just happen to have a job where I have some days with a lot of down time... Waiting fer somthing to breakdown.... And posting on here kills time and makes the day go faster.... If you don't like my posts all you have to do is block me!.. no skin off my butt.... :-)

One thing that I notice is that when someone comes to a meet and greet of some kind they tend to post more. Another thing folks visit the board more when crappie feshing is on their minds, I all but stop posting during deer season but after this last season I think I will just fesh all winter this year.

You don't have to go to their profiles.....it tell their join date in the top right corner of every post they make. :biggrin
