Washing inside your boat
Well guys how do y'all do it. Here is not the best way. I got an early start fishing this morning to beat all the water fleas on the water. My wife came with me which threw me out of my routine. She helped undo the straps and I forgot to put the drain plug in my boat. We launched it and off we went. We Putted around and enjoyed the sunrise. Stopped and scanned some new areas then off to the main river channel to fish. We got all of our poles out behind the cover of a jetty and started fishing. She caught the first 5 fish and I was taking one off to put in the cooler and noticed the bottom of the boat full of water. No way to get all of my crap back in the boat and put it on pad to run the water out so off with the clothes in my undees and into the water I went to put the plug in the boat as my short arms couldn't reach it from inside the boat. She was in a panic and I just laughed it off. Got back in and turned the bilge pump on and told her I was just washing the bottom of the boat out lol. That's my story and I am sticking to it. Got a pretty sunrise pict on out way out to the channel too. hope y'all enjoy the laugh and happy Memorial Weekend. Attachment 92412

No harm no foul. At least the bilge area got flushed out good.

That's a funny story:) but I dont think there's a fisherman alive that hasnt had that to happen to him atleast once. (And for those of you that havent done that yet then your time is coming.Thumbs Up) I do try to leave the cleaning of the boat up at the house instead of in the middle of the lake though.Rofl

Need to install that float valve on the bilge!!!!
-
At least it was warm weather. Stuff happens.
-
Thank God the wife was nice and left the camera down as you was getting back in the boat.
-
You can sure mess your routine up when someone else is with you. Glad it all worked out. It would have been bad though if it had happened in the late winter.
-
You took your WIFE fishing?? Your OWN wife???
Well, you deserve what happened, then!!! :)
Just kidding. Two kinds of folks. Those who have shot their ramrod out of their muzzleloader and forgot to stick in the drain plug, and those who WILL do both.

At least you will admit to it J.W.!! Ask David about that time on the Arkansas river when we had the 18 ft TideCraft with the 175 Johnson.......he was in High School at the time and assured me he had put the plug in the boat (from the outside of the boat) but left out the part about putting it in the wrong hole........It wasn't a pretty sight is all that I'll say! I did fish all day with a partner a couple of years ago in the 200XP Triton with the plug out and never knew it until I was checking it the next day!!!! It set a couple of inches lower in the water but I thought that was from the 350+ lb partner I had in the boat that day!!! It's happened to everyone who has fished very much at all, LOL!!!

Yea I got a kick out of it and the river water wasnt too bad either. Good day in all and everyone needs to be humbled from time to time. I can honestly say this was the first time it happened though.
-
Sounds like you are breaking that new boat in right.
-
been there...done that...replace your wife w/ my oldest son....we thot the other checked...glad the bilge was working
-
Don't worry cause most folks will forget something from time to time. It will not get better with age they say. Most of us that fish alot have done it and some more than once. Gives you something to laugh about later.

Rotflmfao!,,,, I just spit coffee all over my self.... Guess I'll have to go fishing with you to wash it off.... Thanks for sharing...
My drain plug installs from the inside of the boat. Only one like it I've seen. I guess when they built my boat they thought some DA like me would be the owner....LOL

Did it my Ranger back in the 90's on Lake Wappapello, Mo. during a Crappiethon tourney!!! Hard to get em on plane to drain all that water!!!
I reloaded mine on the trailer. It was early March, and the undies thing was a definite No No!!! Lol

JW I just took out all my stuff out of the boat and took it to the car wash... soap spray and rinse with high pressure worked great. did it in the morning opened up all my compartments and let dry in the sun.
