X2...
It was a data base problem and as usual Ed got right on it and got it fixed.
Hmm.. i havent noticed this yet
Thanks! Wasn't sure if it was just me. I had some issues when I first joined using FireFox, but those were resolved long ago.
It's never a good way to start the day when you set down at the computer with morning coffee......and can't log on
I've had that same scenario happen to me, several times in the last few months. It seems to occur in the 5-7AM timeframe, for me. I even had one instance when I tried to open the website (I'm always "logged on") and got a screen message that the site was "suspended". WHOA ... say what !!! I had serious pangs of dread going thru my head, fearing that the site had been hacked & Ed had shut it down. Tried to open it up an hour or so later, and it came up just fine ... but, not a single post about anyone else having seen this "suspension" notice.
... cp
Cp, i was getting the same message.
Yep
The suspension message occurs when Ed has to shut the site comletely down for aehile to fix it. The server is fine as we have a new one and its plenty big. The problem has to do with the data base and Ed is working on it.

The server busy message is automatic when the CPU gets bogged down. This is not normal but can happen at any time. Like G says, we do have a big server. 8cpu and 16gig mem.
The site suspended message comes up when I suspend my own account to keep everyone else off the server so I can get it back up. This happened twice. Once last week Wednesday, and also again yesterday morning. This is what I'm trying to figure out now. I see a php error, and then the server go crazy up to a load of 200 or more.
This is the php error
Warning:getimagesize(http://www.crappie.....)[function.getimagesize]:could not make seekable -http://www.crappie....d codeonline 25
Warning:Division by zero in [path].....php(95): eval()'d codeonline 26
I took some of the code out as I don't want others testing it and recreating the prob.
I'll probably do some more testing tonight.
But also for now it looks like the Like feature on posts is not there. Another something for me to investigate.
So in other words, I have my work cut out for me. lol
Thank you all for your patience here.
No complaints here, I think you're doing a great job...surfing the internet should be like fishing...if you have troubles getting on a particular site have a little patience and try again later.
I've got the same message as cp. Thanks for the explanation "G". Also want to give a big thanx to Ed when the site does go down which isn't very often he gets it going again very quickly.
