oconee sunday
jigslinger and i hit oconee sunday. we havnt been out together since the tourney at oconee on the fifth. so after a little talk we decided to try it again. got there about 7:30 and put in at sugar creek. hit a few docks and had a ball catching dinks on just about every shot. we moved our way out to the main channel and shot some more docks with deep water. again a boat load of dinks. we ended up fishing 3/4 of the lake and every dock we could find with desent water depth. did a lot of exploring and using the humminbird to search for spots to help in the future. we must have caught 150 to 200 fish. we didnt find any true slabes but kept 30 nice 10 inchers. not what we had in mind but a lot of fun catching them. water lice wasnt to bad but i will make a point of doing trips out there on weekdays when i can until fall.Attachment 92028

We didn't get any slabs this trip, but marked waypoints on bout 7 more producing deep docks. Mission for yesterday acomplished. Couple more trips and we'll be scouted every dock on the lake! Before long we'll know it like we know jackson...

Way to go. Ya'll are doing exactly what it takes. There is nothing that beats time on the water.
I must remind you as Slabmaster members ya'll are only allowed to fish Oconee three times in a year! Same goes for any Tournament Lake! This was in the form ya'll signed at the first tournament. Any Questions???

Earl if that's a fact you are disqualified from every lake in the the southeast. And then probably a bunch I don't know about. Buy the way nice catch you had out there on friday

Plus we hi tech rednecks (well redneck and a yankee) we scout with maps and google earth! Works to!
-
I am exempt due to being over fifty. Dan knows I need all the time on the water I can get, being a slower learner and all!
I actually do a lot of scouting for deer hunting on google earth. I was just looking at Columbus Lake, Aberdeen Lake and Aliceville Lake in Mississippi trying to get some ideas for October.

I can see a polygraph in the future being needed!!!! Of course it will be for fishing info purposes only!
-
I need to borrow your fish finder so I can look at those waypoints! Weird how in the summer all I catch are dinks but fall to early spring the big ones bite.
-
All way points will be gladly accepted and tested.
Good report guys.

All ways points are in my head. We always forget to enter them when we are fishing.i got a mind like a steel trap. Only problem is the hinges are rusted shut so it hard to get them out most of the time.

When is the best time to hit Oconee???????? I was at west point last Tuesday and hit a jackpot, 103 with 32 limit, kept 32,nothig less than 10 inch. Several about 13 was 12 inch or better. I like the taste of oconee crappies over west point.
