A New Era is arriving

Man it is great to see that our little community of friends that enjoy getting together and fishing is hitting the big leagues. I always thought the day would come when someone had to flex there muscles but I believe we have taken things a little too far. There is absolutely no reason that what took place today should have. I guess c.com is becoming more and more like the other clubs that people love to get on here and bash all the time. I am sure that no one cares but I have lost alot of respect on the count of this. There were no circumstances that led up to this decision other than a , well I simply cant think of a reason at all. SAD SAD DAY IN THE CRAPPIE,COM COMMUNITY

I do appologize if I am wrong but I thought the forum would be the place for an open discussion which includes all c.com members. This way everyones voice can be heard

No apology necessary, Minnertroller. If this is heading in the direction that I have a felling it is, then in my opinion, the PM route with the committee is the route to go and not bashing in the open forum. That never accomplishes anything. IMO. Well, sometimes it does accomplish hard feelings and division.

The rules say we will abide by all laws. The tournament committee decides to break the law and not get a permit. And that's ok?
Someone asks to move the start time and is asked why they waited to the last minute. The tournament decides to move the weigh in location during registration. And that's ok?
But you let two teenage boys show up to the registration five minutes late with 16.1 pounds of fish and they're disqualified. That's not ok!

WB you are the man. I can not believe what happened(now that i have been informed). It is out side of character of what i thought of C.com. But hey nothing really surprises me these days. And Minnertroller we are on same page now that i have been informed. Do think more time should have been allowed concidering weigh in was 10 miles from our normal weigh in spot aka (Boat Ramp). But now the choices is do we really want to fish FJ's

Alls I'm saying is it's their Dad's fault, not Yikess or the other committee members. Heck, purty sure I'm the one that invented the cut off rule to start with. if they bent it 5 minutes this time, what about 15 the next time and so on. I don't know for sure, but I'll bet everybody else made it there with plenty of time to spare. I'm just saying.

I honestly believe that if the weighin had not been moved to another location to avoid the man in grey, this never would have happened. I just simply dont understand why a start time cant be changed two days ahead of time but a weighin can be changed at start fishing time

Yes, we want to continue fishing FJ's. The question is, do we want to retain the Director General. I personally gave him two opportunities to correct his mistake at the weigh in. I'll be home soon and will try to put up a poll to see if we want to remove him. Unless he wants to do the right thing and resign.

I don't fish the fruit jar's although I wish I could fish all of them and I have no dog's in this race but them boy's should have been able to weigh them fish in it's not like they were fishing for $10'000 just my 2 cent's worth

The only persons "wronged", if you try to call it that, says no foul as far as he is concerned. Tourney committee followed the rules as far as check in, whats there to gripe about? I far as you giving him an opportunity to correct himself, you didnt even fish, where's your dog in this hunt?:dono

OK, I have talked with several folks today regarding the weigh in. It seems to me that there were some tough decisions to be made! Here's the way I see it. Rules were in place. Yikess had to make a decision. He made it! He broke no rules! He didn't ask for this position! He took it to help run the FJ's more effectively! It was his call. I'm sorry some of you didn't agree with it but only Yikess and a few others have been involved with the FJ's since the beginning! Before you tar and feather him, ask yourself, what would you do? Would you hold up weigh in for 15 minutes,? 30 minutes?, 1 hour?, 1 week? Seems that some doing the complaining don't ever offer to help! Let's not play arm chair quarter back. He had a tough decision to make. He made it! That's it, it's over! Get off his butt!!!!

Agree Speck... Hate it for the boys... WB I hate it for you too but at least your man enough to admit rules are rules... If we were all fishing against Capps and Coleman and they showed up late you'd want them disqualified as well...

If the weighin was changed to a different location some time allowance should have been given to make sure everyone had ample time to find it.

If what i am reading and understanding happened it is total BS. The reason most of us fish these is simply comrodery and bragging rights to hassle others with.I was under the impression of us being somewhat friends. This was a FRUIT JAR among a group thats in it for far more other reasons than money. Before i started fishing with yall I liked what i read on how things were. He has done far more than 90% of members(including me) to help in anyway he can on numerous events.This will make a number of us not to want to even fish anymore. Rules are rules but really.This aint B.A.S.S. or a national event its a FJ with friends.This is totally ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When the director general called time, I IMMEDIATELY suggested he recheck his official time because the B's were pulling in at that time. He stated that it was 3:05 and time was up. The rumor I am now hearing spread, and correct me if I am wrong Speck, that it was 3:15 and we were already putting up the equipment. That is NOT what happened. There was not any wait for the B's. My point is if we are going to break the law, move the weigh in at the last minute. If that kind of discernment is ok, then surely it is ok to give a team with two kids five extra minutes.

All jokes aside, I side with the crew thats callin bs. But what do I care, I ain't gonna fesh em no how. Carry on.

Let me see if I can get these in order.

1) The Director General responds to a post that we can't make changes at the last minute.
2) Registration is held the night before when the rules state it will be held the morning of.
3) The law is broken by no permit being purchased.
4) The weigh-in is moved at the last minute to a location I believe many knew not how to get to.
5) Two kids, who have fished all day in the rain, show up to weigh-in 5 minutes late and are disqualified.
