I live off cortisone. Yesterday I went to get my fixes.. I got a shot in the knee and a shot in the wrist (this shot smarts). I couldn't get one in my shoulder. Have to go back in a month (according to new guidelines) for the other shot. Hello, my shoulder hurts now!!!
I bet EB can come up with some reason that its a good thing
I have arthritis in my left knee bad, hurts and I limp all the time, and I have had 2 shots of cortisone in it which helped a great deal with the pain but not with movement. My regular doctor told me I could only have 4 total shots before it started to harm my knee so no more after 4. My granddaughter is a nurse at the pain clinic, same hospital as my regular doc, and she told me to come up there and check with the pain doctor which I did and he gave me 3 shots of Orthovisc at the same time which has help a great deal with movement but does nothing for the pain. I wonder if I can get the other 2 cortisone shots? Getting old ain't for sissies.
I go in to the VA clinic bout once every 1.5-2 yrs and get an epidural in my L4/L5 (somewhere in there) and wala !
Lower back pain (Sciatic nerve) goes away ........
Doc just has me sit on bed, bend over on bedside table, nurse holding my hands, he sticks me = it's all good.......
Lost two jobs out on the KSC cause I couldn't walk/dying in pain = VA done/does me right ! ! !
I love America ! ! !
Mr. Tom, I bought some of that new Icy Hot arthritis creme, helps some.
I have used the rool on Icy Hot stuff. Helps some. Make a mistake of rubbing my shoulder before I peed one time. Wow!Quote:

Tom, I think a lot of us have some of the same pains that you are having. It seems different remedies work for different people, for the same pains. What reason did they give for not allowing the last shot of cortesone? :dono EB
Man I feel for you guys, and I'm here at home with only minor arthritis in my hands, elbow, knee, feet and ankles - oh yeah and that nasty blood clot in my leg...but the pain isn't so great that I need to get a shot. They did give me pain meds, but it made my heart race, gave me the shakes, and breathe funny, so I'm just trying to ignore the pain - sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. My parents told me it was gonna be like this, I didn't believe 'em...guess I'll have to tell them I'm sorry I didn't have more compassion for what they were going through.
I'm adding all you guys to my prayer list...God CAN take our pain away.
I also have it in several places. I've learned to just live with the pain. The VA has given me a number of meds for the pain, but I don't like all the side affects. I've never had better care than what I receive at the VA hospital.
New regulations. Can only have x amount of injections per visit. Same applies for skin cancer removals.Quote:

I here ya cane pole. Melissa and I run in to this kinda crap all the time--when you need the medicine you need it period--but they say when you can and can not get it. It is a pain (no pun intended)
