Just a brief explanation
I'm officially on vacation! My chunky chum and I are heading out for camp this afternoon and we both are really excited !!!
I know many of you who know me have asked why I haven't been so active on CDC. It's nothing to do with a lot of changes that have gone on over the last year or anything I read or anyone said. So I have a short list of excuses:
1. Working my a$$ off for the last year and a half so if I had a day off I either had to do crap around the house or yard OR I just laid on the couch all day and did nothing. I had a few rare opportunities when I had nothing to do and fished a few times. This is not an excuse for congratulating more of you on your outings and fine catches but I didn't have much if anything for me to share with all of you.
2. I don't drink any more except for special occasions (like this weekend, I shall be consuming mass quantities of beer:cheers2 ) so I don't sit at my desk all night "BLAH BLAH BLAH" like I used to. I'm still the same fun guy I used to be I just remember what was so fun the next day :)
3. The forum has changed some, mostly with ALL the new people, I get on and there is so much new stuff going on with all you and the newer members I feel kinda lost.
I remember driving home from my first time to Missouri CDC spring camp about 4 years ago with tears in my eyes after I spent 4 days with some of the best people I ever met. Everyone did so much for me and I was genuinely touched by the kindness of many of you. I remember seeing all the big trucks and big boats and RV's and stuff and not jealous or envy, but thinking of all the time and $$ I wasted over the years on bad habits and lack of enthusiasm for life and I could have all those things and spend more time with people like that.
That brings me to where I am today. I am in the middle of a funk of figuring out who or what I really am, getting my life in order and lining up my priorities. I'm getting better, I guess it was a depression or something, regret, I'm not sure, So....
Many thanks to all you who have gone out of their way to show me a good time with fishing and fellowship over the past few years, I look forward to many more and I will try to participate more.
So to sum it all up, it's all your fault I am the way I am evolving now!
(Dang, excuses and blame! I think I might run for president!!)
I love all you guys and look forward to seeing you this weekend and some of the others I won't see, I hope to get out more and meet some more of you in the future!!
Anyway, I thought I would try to answer a question I'm going to get asked allot this weekend,
See you all at the lake (someday),
Quinn

You are right rugs. The people from CDC are awesome. As are you.
-
Thanks Sir Axed, did you bring some of those cheese curds this year? I know how to fry them now.
-
Glad you're back Rugs. Just remember, you cant move forward if you live in the past!
The two most wasted emotions are regret and worry. You can't change the past and most of what you worry about will never happen!!!! Live life to the fullest. Try to be the man your dog thinks you are, drink one for me at camp and have a great time. Hopefully I'll see you next year.
