8 Weeks and 1 Day Later

My pop's finally made it home late Friday night. He has home health visits for blood work, IV's for constant antibiotics, and a drain tube from his liver, but at least he's back home! Hopefully the doctors have it all figured out and my mom can whoop him back into shape.

Hospital Scorecards:

Baptist Desoto: 6 weeks of "looking for galstones", which resulted in my dad being transferred out of that sh^thole to Methodist.
Methodist University: 2nd day there, discovered that he had 3 abcesses on his liver, which resulted in him going home 2 weeks later and hopefully cured.

I've all but begged them to let me sue BD for their portion of the bill, but they won't let me do it. They aren't the sueing type, and neither and I, but in my opinion if I owed 40K for the 6 weeks of incompetence he was put through, and the court decided in my favor, then that is what the court system is for.

This is his happy face. Poor fella has a long way to go

Great news ES!!

Go after BD. The least that they will do is reduce that bill by half.. If not threaten to sue and watch their reaction.

Just being home will make him feel a lot better. Glad to see the prayers are working.

At the least, I would ask them to waive any and all co-payments. That is the least they should do and it will keep your family from having to pay anything out of pocket. Still galls you to know they get insurance payment, but Medicare pays about 25% of what they bill so this might be best way to go.
I can understand your Dad not wanting to sue, but you could negotiate this with the Hospital, just be sure and talk to
someone with the authority to do it.

Sorry I didn't catch this sooner, Chad. It's wonderful that he's home. Now he can get well. Home is much more conducive to healing. Still on the prayer list.

So glad he is finally home. Will continue to pray for him. If you plan on fighting Baptist, better pull ur bootstraps up n pack a lunch. I have been fighting them on over charges on 3 different bills for 2 years now. I have the proof from EOB's, and insurance co. on my side, n still nothing. Get a lawyer. Wished I would have done that from the beginning.

Sure glad to hear the good news. know he is glad to be at home. Was just thinking about him the other day and wondering how he was doing. Will keep him in my prayers.
