I FINALLY broke down and got me one. I looked at a couple of youtube videos on HOW TO and didn't realize I could check not only batteries but switches and fuses as well with a Multimeter. Pretty neat

Goldang that's fancy! I need one!!!! Lol
Not tryin to be a smart arse, but I can only wonder what you thought you'd be able to check with a multimeter. Surely you're kidding?
LOL, yeh right, you got some that cost into the hundreds of dollars. I spent a whopping 16 bucks LOL
all I wanted was a volt meter and this is all they had minner. The NAPA store in Jacktown never has much in stock, Glad I got it though
Maybe next year you could upgrade to digital. Bless your heart.

DD you are begining to scare me! Some things are just met to be left to others to do! Thats why Speck makes the big bucks!
Yea DD if you get into somthing over 12v give me a call. I don't want to see you with curly hair.
Man, y'all sure are rough on DD today
Mainly for my TM batteries and a couple other things on the boat is the reason I got i. My Gas level indicator isn't working right now. wanna check and see if I can figure it out on my own. Then I MAY have one of my TM Batteries going out. It only lasted 3 or so hours the other day buit I'm not real sure I had a full charge on it. I did check to make sure I had it wired right though since I had taken them all out a couple months ago
Heck DD, I used analog meters for years. I felt they were more accurate. Finally drug into the digital age kicking and screaming. Wont go back to analog!!!

If you want to test your TM batterys......you need to get two things....a hydrometer and a battery load tester.
look for the cloud of Smoke down here in Ridgeland LOL
DD have you checked the water in your batteries. Just a thought. Over time charging over and over and over will boil the water out of them. Then they wont hold a charge for long. Had this happen to me. If they are low just get some distilled water and fill them. Someone told me not to put tap water in because of all the iron and deposits in water. Might be a quick fix?
You can use the multi meter as a load tester. When you put on the battery have someone push the trolling motor button and see what the amps drop to. If they drop way down on any particular battery the battery is prob goin bad.
Yehy, checked them the other day and their full. I was going to unhook the number 2 battery (I have a 36 volt TM) and then check each seperately. Then hook then all up and check at the TM for 36. It had 36.4 when EZ helped me hook it up
Dont forget to turn your meter off after you use it, if it is left on ohms it will run the battery in the meter down, voice of experiance.
I sure got alot of things done today working on the boat! With that Brand new handy dandy analog multimeter I was able to check out the fuel tank, that darned fuel gauge and that trolling motor battery!
