If we could manage to do this everywhere we might get out of China's pocket. I worry more about them and their threat than any of the other extremist out there.

Sounds real good to me !!!!! should never move off shore !!!!!!!!!
Some more good news thanks Jim. Watched a show a few weeks ago talking about other co,s starting to bring jobs back from there because of low sales and increased labor cost over there.
I hope B'n'M follows suit!

transportation costs (fuel) figure into their decisions as well from what I saw on the new last night
We outta boycott EVERY company that moves their jobs oversees and still wants our money. I'd rather pay more for USA goods!!!

I'm like ya'll, I wish we could totally ignore China and make everything right here on U.S. soil. As of matter of fact it would probably help out the oil and gas situation also. If them suckers ain't got all our money they wouldn't need as much of the worlds oil supply either I'd bet...more oil on the market=cheaper oil
Prob. stop the copper theives, china has a copper shortage and most of this scrap copper goes there.
China is emerging and with that labor cost will go up. With the price of fuel shipping costs are outragous. We should have a mass exodus in China with manufacturing jobs coming back to the US.
Price of fuel doesn't really have an effect on the situation most companies use a freight forwarder in witch case a fully loaded 40' container can go hong kong to Memphis for right around $1500.
Now the labor cost very well can have an effect but that will depend on a few things like the fact even if they have to pay the say wages there as here they don't have to offer health care or anything, also what the customs duty rate is on the products they are importing.
Some stuff is free to import.
When did they move to China? I have several Buck knives and they all have USA stamped on them.
If you notice everything we buy for fishing has gone up this year and it is directly related to the cost of fuel. It takes a lot of of fuel to move one of those container ships from china to here and there are no fuel subadies for those guys like trucking. Their cost of labor is going up because the people's standard of living has gone up and the are demanding more just like us. Their government is facing the same thing ours is they don't have the income to keep paying substadies to jeep their prices down. Jobs are going to come home. Just not fast enough.
