1) cause it'd look ignert on the left.
2) cause you couldn't see past the console with your side mirror when backing.
3) case of the natural torque of the prop pulls the boat right making easier visibility on the right.
4) To tick the Brits off.

I love my Center Console! Will never go back to a side console.
To many PBR's. It's the proper navigational right-of-way. It's backwards to our driving, like the brits. On the water, if you meet someone, they are suppose to be on your right. Go to the river and watch the barge traffic. Carry a case and a driver. Most of the time on the lakes, it's get out of my way. I don't give (your words go here) about some silly water way rules.
