Nice bird!! Talltimber got one this morning also. He texted me a pic while ago
Way to go. That will be some good eating.
congrats on a great gobbler! love it when it happens fast!
great morning to be out, congrats on your bird.got mine at 7:30 .
Weight was 23 with a 10 inch beard. Not a giant and only about a two year old bird, but he going to taste mighty fine!
Hey a 10 beard is a good one! I tried it a couple of times but I am not much into shooting something I just don't care to eat! Give me ham at Thanksgiving and Christmas!
AWSOME.... GREAT PICS congrats on the quicky:cheers2
Dan if you ever tasted fried turkey breast....you'd start hunting them!!!!!
Wild turkey taste so much better than a store bought bird. If you have ever eaten a barn yard chicken then a store bought one, its the same thing, anything not fed tons of chemical induced feed tastes way better.
Nothing better than a wild turkey breast cut into strips and fried. With out a dought the best meal I ever had was wild turkey cooked like that with fresh white moral mushrooms and fried tators. I hear they are very good deep fried in the big cookers also.
A couple big turkeys deep fried would be at camp. Anyone coming to camp have a turkey fryer?
Sweet! Great job!
nice bird! finally shot my first ever turkey today.
Congrats, watch out this turkey hunting is addictive, lol. Been doing it since I was old enough to hold a single shot 20 gauge my grandpa would prop up with sticks so I could shoot it, my first bird was when I was 6 years old. Been doing ever since. Its a great feeling when you put the work in on finding the bird, roosting the bird, then hoping like crazy nothing happend to it in the middle of the night, call that big tom in and hear it spit drum and see it strut in front of you. Its a great experience!
Ya my first time ever goin was perfect until one little mistake that I never speak of. But today was the biggest bird to come off of our farm by Bennet springs. When i saw that tom come behind a tree I was shakin, but when i shot and saw it floppin on the ground, It felt so good shootin a turkey.
Yeap it's a special feeling

Good job guys! Going to try later this week with my Bow!
WTG Little Skeeter! Won't get out myself until the 27th. Hoping for a tri-fecta! Turkey, limit of crappie and a spoonbill in the same weekend!Thumbs Up
Nice bird! The breasts are fantastic! You're right, put in the time to find 'em and you'll get him. Got one ALMOST every spring in northern Michigan. The last 4 years, except this spring, were with a bow. That's a real adrenaline boost. Just a neat feeling. I have an old stuffed tom I use as a deke he's been beat up pretty good over the years. He has more wire and 4" drywall screws pushed in him than Home Depot!
Congrats guys. Skeeter that's a really nice bird. The one I got wasn't that big. Dad got one too, so we're good til Monday. He's been seeing some bigger birds around. I think we're gonna go to work on them next week. I like that turkey hunting pretty good.
