ES you idget! You know she likes Milwaukee tools!!!! Take those Kobalt's back to Lowes!!!
Better be getting some DeWalts
I was a dewalt dewd back in my lectrical days. Nowa days, $170 was too good to pass up so the dirty kobalt will have to do
If you are working with em DeWalt is the way to go. For every now and then use the Kobalts are fine.
Least a didnt skimp on the north star 1573001. Gonna love it. Just gonna take a little more time to grow on the wifie

Train her on the boat, she'll get the hang of it.
my wife would love it
I think those are great gifts.Oh yeah answer your phone!!
I think you did good
I also have a fortune invested in DeWalt's. The only problem is when Black and Decker bought the DeWalt line, they started cheaping out. They are using plastic gears in them now. I don't consider them contractor grade anymore. That's why all my new tools will be Milwaukee.
X2 on the Milwaukee.

Think after hearing this I will start looking at the Milwaukee's, any difference in grade on them?

Rees as far as i know they aint never had but one grade and that was good. Used to have their transportation side as a lease customer when i worked and their stuff was top notch. Most everything was made or assembled in Arkansas and Wisconson.
Milwaukee is hard to beat. I have some of the older DeWalt stuff thats really held up well. I tried Makita but didn't care for them. I have some Bosch tools that are also good.
Tried lots of it and Milwaukee held up the best, but if batt goes bad they are high dollar. Just boght a mil. 12v lithium sawzall and its a real ba..
I do remodel constr so i use my tools everyday. I like the new 18 volt Makita drills they have held up well for me, not gonna argue about drills cause Millwaukee makes a bad a--drill. But the only mitre saw and skill type saw to own is a Makita in my book. Porter cable makes the best router in my opinion.
I have the 28v impact. That thing is a horse. If you're not careful you can really rip up stuff.

I like makita and milwaukee but don't think my wife would want me getting her one.

I'm a DeWalt guy, and I use mine every day too!! I've never tried the Milwaukee's. How do the batteries hold up?

Milwaukee makes the best power tool for construction bar none, Bill we use their corless drills, bandsaws, sawsalls, impacts, and circular saws all day every day. Can use the same battery for hours, recharge over and over with no loss in performance. #1 in my book.
And their made in the USA!
Tried old mikwaukee a couple times when I was younger but it was nasty.
What do people do with their old stuff? The last combo kit I bought was the neon green Ryobis when the lithium batteries had just come out. Great tools, but after 4 or 5 years the batteries wouldn't hold a charge more than a few minutes of work. A couple of new batteries were more than buying the new combo set that I bought. Does that make since? Anyway, I've got a perfectly good drill, skillsaw and sawzall with no batteries. Kinda seems wasteful to toss them in the trash.:dono
EBay!
Ah Es, after the first one, they all taste the same.
That pressure washer, my son has a gas powered one. "Do not start with water pressure on." After burning up the pump and having it replaced I put a valve on the water line. It's good to go for 10 years now.
If she doesn't like/use what you bought for her, she can return and get what she wants.
Picked up 2 Ryobi 12v lithum drills neat little drills light wt. since i no longer work and have reached geezerdom needed something a lil lighter, plus when my 2 grand sons come over they both grab a drill and a wood bit and strart drilling holes, keeps em both busy for hrs.Wife dont like all those holes in the landscape timbers but it keeps em busy.
Can't speak for the batteries on anything by the 28V Milwaukee.
They go full power until dead. No slow down. And recharge in less that
an hour. Haven't been through but about 100 recharges so I can't
tell how many recharges they'll get.
I need a new impact. Suggestions for one with a 1/2" drive?
Depends on what you need it for. For everyday use DeWalt makes a good 1/2 inch drive, 18V. If you're talking truck lugs and such you can't beat the Milwaukee 28V. Milwaukee is pricey, though.
Hey CC, I don't get it either...best 2 things I bought my wife: John Deere backpack leaf blower and Cyclone Rake. Takes a special women fer sur.
ES look you need to look at flowers, diamonds, cake, furniture, clothes or something else besides tools for her birthday! Or you will either end up divorced or laying under some flowers yourself! Trust me I have been married 3 times!
Attachment 88068 Here rests our brother ES after his wife decided tools were not enough for her birthday!
