Dunns Creek. There you have the best of both. Crescent Lake on one end and the St. Johns river on the other.
65 Pontiac has a good choice...I am partial to Talquin...There is great fishing on Lake Talquin and also some good fishing in the 2 Rivers that feed it..It also has some country living around the lake without being too far from the city...It just depends on which part of Florida you would rather live.

That pond has dried up and all the cattails have died and the stumps have all rotted. The walking catfish are hitchiking trying to get to the Peace river.
yea with no more rain than what weve had, the walking catfish are carrying canteens.
Just saying what a state we live in. The beauty of some of these places is just awesome to me. I know I won't get to see them all before I'm gone, but I sure would like to. Came across some pics of Istopoga, where FCC is having a tournement today. What a beautiful place.
Your not far from there, you should make a trip. If you like catching bluegills and shellcrackers the may flies should be hatching, the fish will gather in the reeds to feed on the flies when they crawl out to dry their wings, locals call then chizzywinks. Keep in mind if you go that lake can and will get rough right now when the wind comes up. Good speck fishing also.
The ICW around St. Augustine. Still close to Crescent but on top of some 1st class flounder.
i would live on a lake with a river .. both of the worlds in one ... i need them both totaly diff. worlds .. but could fish all year and diff. spots thought the year........ i got my dream already thought out ..lmao....
You already have that lake now Michael, just do not have a house / cabin on it
But your lake of choice should be Manatee....................unless that sign at
entrance is wrong - Welcome "home of the professor" come join him on a crappie
hunt..............My problem is can't get past session number 4............but have now
moved up to "darn it" when i error, which is better than my previous name. @%&*(#
Sure would luv both, but if the house came with a sea-wall high enough for the 100 yr flood, & was tided to the whipping post to choose, I guess it would be the river for the diversity.
Did not intend to be confusing. Not meant to be choice of river or lake, but which river or lake either one.

My perfect retreat would be a 3-story, glass front facing the lake,
A-Frame home on wooded hill, overlooking about 800
acre lake nestled in a glen, boat dock below A-frame, whereas when return from
enjoying day or hours on lake, pull into dock, push button and lift would brng you to
main floor level in A-frame. Morning sunlight comming up over the hills, hitting A-frame in the
kitchen & master bedroom area. Tv - Phone not necessary, everything solar power
wind & water temp controlled, generating own electrical power plus, via water wheel
flood controlled dam.
Lake would have several small streams running into it, along with natural spring,
thereby, self cleaning of lake.. natural downed timber. several brush piles for fish
habitat
Yelim where was this picture taken? Almost looks like Blue Cypress?
