:fish Well I can tell you that not alot of fishin is going on here on rathbun only about half of the club members have been out and the reports are mixed some have done real good others fair 5 to 8 feet in the brush and cover most using bobby garland and turbo tails by TTI blakemore and some on minnows or combos been a few real nice ones taken have a couple of pics on the club website Home - Lake Rathbun Crappie Club I know there is enough guys fishing that all of the bait shops are open earily this year not sure what waer temp is dnr reports surface temp at 59 but I am still thinking spawn is coming early this year maybe we will get lucky and hit it on the first club tournament date????
I was consistantly finding 63-64 degree water temps. Most of the fish I am finding is 5-8 eight feet of water. Have had best luck near dropoffs, going from 4 to 12 feet.
Good luck, let us know how you do at Twain...
Thanks Bec I will let you know I'm hoping to do good we fish there same time last year and did good and this year there calling for sunny day's and 70's to 80 degree days while we are there and it's the full moon week-end so should be good. Thanks and Good fishing :fish
Guys I got a report this morning from a guy on the MO-Iowa state line at Lineville, IA coffee shop. He said that him and a couple of buddies caught about 100 yesterday. They only kept a limit each but he wouldn't tell me if he got them on the Missouri side or the Iowa side. But he said he was on a lake and close to Lineville, IA! Lots of smaller fish but they did catch a few big ones.

Caught today 2 fow, black chartreuse and pink. 1.65lbs
Just to say we caught some fish but it was tough we got some nice one's but right before we left to go down there a big cold front came in and messed up the fishing but all in all it was a great trip. Had some fresh crappie and fresh mushrooms and margarita's with good friends = great fun. But running my new boat was a hole lot of fun also.:fish
Yeah that's what it is really all about...:biggrin. Heading out this weekend. Can't wait to get on the water. Glad to hear you had a good time. Sucks the timing of that cold front. Crappie and mushrooms hard to beat that combo.

Anyone fishing south fork area and see a bobber bobbing, there is a 5 pound cat on it, you can have the fish I will take my bobber back.....;)
any luck on crappies? i fished over the weekend off the main lake, caught a handfull of keepers including one just under 2 pounds but couldn't find anything consistant, except little ones
Caught several nice slabs in the willows around the south fork area couple days ago. 1 to 2 fow. Couple had eggs still and couple did not. spawn is on. Close to the shore, caught quite a few in the grass also. Little smaller though. Have fun! I will be going to Red Rock this weekend to fish the tourney up there.
