Is it muddy on the South end? Looks like chocolate milk on this end.
No, it doesn't look too bad here yet.
Went out with a follow crappie.com member today, we ended with 19 but it sure was tough.
Catch them in the milk?
Some others in coves with a little clearer water. The muddy does not bother me as bad as the floating debris. Make longlining tough.
Yeah, I had the same problem the weekend before last over at Middle Fork. Last weekend I went out not fishing for crappie but caught a 2lb female that looked like she swallowed a baseball she was so full of eggs.
At least we shouldnt get hung up as much
Gonna go give them a try tomorrow at choctaw.
Good luck. Was gonna go this morning but wind machine is on again
Took a week off of work to head down to Heber and camp in JFK park and do some trout fishing. Water was so high on the river and the rain never let off we stayed two nights and headed back home.
Went to Greers today, knew it would be high and probably muddy, but was hoping if I put in at Choctaw it would be clearing up a little, wrong. From the 1 guy I talked to, who had fished there Saturday, it was muddier today than then. Mud was bad enough, but there was so much floating debris, you couldn't run. Even out in the big water there would be acres and acres of logs and limbs and a little of everything. You'd run 1/4 mile kind'a clear then hit a 40 to 80 raft of junk, then open up and have to shut it right back down. . If you're head'n that way, watch out.
I took off right at daybreak this morning and it didn't take long to shut it down and wait for more light. All these pictures were form one spot, kind'a scanning across in front of Peter Rock point toward the east.

It' the same thing up Middle Fork and Devils Fork.
Sugarloaf area was the same. Managed a few but they are scattered.
Wow thats trashy
Yeah I hit something hard in Middle Fork Saturday that was just under the water.
I fished South Fork Saturday morning and caught 5 keepers then loaded up and went to Middle Fork and caught nothing but trash. I'll give it another try after crappie camp.
Maumelle had all that same kind of trash but maybe not as bad. Course the 17 mph wind outta the W kept the lake clear and white cappin but when you got out of the wind, you got in the trash. Some places so thick you couldnt amke a cast w/o gettin stuff on the lure. High water made it tough but we still caught a nice mess of black crappie.
Thanks for the pics and the heads up Sam!
Thanks Sam good to here from you again this is jack from the old searcy bass club days hows doc williams. You must be mad at crappie like I am instead of the smallies we were at devils fork monday above the prim bridge is pretty clear just right color for fishing.
