Minn kota Terrova 80 lbs
Thinking about buying one of these, have been looking on Inet and can not find any specs on them. Could anybody out there that has one measure the base that mounts to the boat and let me know what the dimensions are? I just want to make sure that I have enough platform on the bow of my boat for it. This is the model that I am looking to buy Terrova 80/US2 w/ i-Pilot.
Thanks Mark

Mark,
I am thinking of getting one also. What length shaft do you need? It looks like the base is fairly compact, but the way it stows makes it sit way back in the boat. I am thinking I will get one of the quick disconnct mounts so I an pull it off if I an not using it on a trip, I believe there are times when I'll have to use my cable control motor, so I need a quick way to change them.

I also would like to have one but only of it is easy to change out to go back to cable steer like searay mentioned. Would use it about half the year and my current one the other half.

well I done got showered, and a crown and lemonade in hand and I do not want to go outside to measure my terrova, but I will tomorrow if someone else does not,,, I have one mounted on a tracker pro crappie 175. Minn Kota also makes a easy on off mount, quick release bracket as it were,,,, I use mine all year arround , eaven on truman and all the trees,, and I have no problems getting arround the trees, but my boat is light,,

not sure the quick release mounts will interchange between power drive / terrova and cable drive/maxum/fortrex models not sure haven't been presented with that one ??? jerky, good reports on the terrova overall, i see it a good bit, shaft length depends on what your boat you have, the mounting base isn't real large but not sure exact specs for bolt hole pattern

Thanks for the input guys! I will go to Bass Pro and look at them. I see that Minn Kota say to measure to water line from bow and add 5 ". Does anybody know how to determine the shaft length of existing motor? Is it the actual length of the shaft only, or is it to the center of the power head ect? If you buy the 60" shaft and only need 48" shaft can you just not lower it as far? Or is that not a good thing? When we go to Lake Ohae the waves are pretty bad sometimes and my existing motor will sometimes have some cavitation. Thanks for the thoughts!

mine measures 13"x7" that is the part that actually bolts down the base it self is 17"x9" hope that helps

Let me tell you one verry important thing on The Motor Shaft, if you need 53 and you have 48 your in trouble,,, If you have 53 and you need 48 your fine,,, get the longer one, it is adjustable on the shaft you can shorten it and that makes it easier to return to the cradle if you do not have it all the way lowered in the collar,,, get the long shaft....

Thanks for everybody's help!!!!! Got a flyer from Rogers Sporting Goods in Liberty Mo. and they have the Terrova 80 lb, Ipilot, with US2 transducer, 45 or 60" shaft on sale for 1299.99, with free shipping! Plus there is an $80.00 rebate and if you have an out of Mo address to ship to no Tax, I think? Good through April 30th, while supplies last! Best deal I have seen hands down, just thought I would pass that on if anyone is interested!

I have an 80 pound Terrova IPilot on a 1860 G3. It hangs over the front a couple of inches but it's bolted there to stay. Beagle is correct about getting the longer shaft. You can always lower the collar to raise the motor if you need to. Its the best thing made for rigging. Sounds like you found a heck of a deal on one

I think you may have just sold a trolling motor for them. I just started looking for a new one for myself. The bad part is I need one by the weekend. I had smoke rolling out of mine this weekend.

I am sure if you call them they will ship it right out! They are a very good company! I have ordered and got stuff shipped, received the next day. I would think the same for Sedalia, or maybe a day longer.
