On the COE lake you have a 2 hook per line rule..right? A crankbait technically has 6 hooks (although most of us just say 2 treble hooks). My question is I wonder if you were running a stinger hook on your trolling rigs how would this be classified.

It's one bait though
DonDon is right. We asked the game warden this question last Summer about a crank bait that had 3 treble hooks on it. He said it don't mater how many hooks it has it counts as one bait.
I believe the regs use the wording "two hook sets per line".
He said we could put two crank baits on one pole if we wanted... It's legal
So an alabama rig is ok by the rule. Its one bait tied to your line.

Yep
But I don't think you can bait it with minners
Alabama rig is illegal on the big four coe lakes. They have a write up on it on the mdwfp website

What I'm talking about is a jig with an attached bare stinger hook similar to what green carp guys use on spinner and buzz baits
BTW...DD you were only half right cause I am talking about one bait (a jig)
if there's not a long line out the back of it, it'll be good to go. It you're just putting a extra hook directly attached to the main jig hook to get the short bites, it's OK in my book. I ain't the grand pubah but that's the way I see it so take it with a grain of sand
I prefer salt over sand. Maybe ole Pistol will chime in
It's one bait. The Sauger and Walleye guys have been doing this for years but you can't bait it with anything or it will become a very short double minnow rig.
I asked this qustion on the Alabama Rig as well, illegal on the big 4.
I am fairly sure that stinger hooks are not allowed in crappie masters.......Fairly sure, not positive.
