Thanks G
They are found in fresh and salt water, including the Gulf of Mexico.
spillway shad
Was ordering some scents from Procure. They have a threadfin and a gizzard shad scent. Picked up a small bottle just to try. It's a gel and after you put in on a few times, it stays on the lure. I was using some in November on some immitation shrimp baits and the other day I was cleaning things up and could still smell the scent on the baits
Both DD, Threadfin and Gizzard shad
You been i nmy store again ? I haven't been since last wednesday .
I ain;t been since last Thursday or friday picking up some 2 cycle oil and a few other things
I'm trying to back off . I'm spending my gas money on fishing stuff . Least i have something to do if it rains . Sort though all this stuff .
Yea cuz I know we have both species of shad in Okatibbee. The gizzard shad get pretty big but the threadfin are the ones the crappie mostly feed on.
Yep, the gizzards can get up to 4.5lbs.
The color "Sexy Shad" is based on Threadfin Shad, the yellow streak on the side of that bait is what makes it so good. Looks just like one, a lot of people call Threadfins "Yellowtails" along the Tn River. Whether people realize it or not, one of the reasons Chartreuse colors or adding Spike-It dye to plastics works so well is because the Threadfins have that yellow tint to them.
we gonna see how the gizzard shad scent works. ordered a 2 oz bottle of the gel
