Need to know if the series 31 deep cycle batteries are the correct one to get for trolling motors. And also, wheres a good place around Jackson to get them. I think i remember i saw on here awile back, there was a place maybe on 80 near Miskelly's. I appreciate and and all information or suggestions.
I get mine at Wally World. They are well priced, have a good warranty, and you can find a Walmart almost anywhere you are in the country if one goes bad. Other than that I hate Walmart though.
The largest battery I've seen at Wal Mart is a class 29. I've seen the 31s at Sam's Club. Some Wal Marts may have them but the two stores in Meridian don't carry them.
Depends on what you are wanting to use em for as well, if you are gonna be pulling cranks I would look into the 12v golf cart batts.
Group 24, 27, 29 and 31 refer to industry standard sizing for most standard applications. There are bigger and there are smaller but a 31 is more than most need unless you are a serious crank bait with trolling motor puller. Short answer to your question is yes, but if you have a very high demand for juice to pull cranks or lots and lots all day trips on the lake, then the golf cart batteries might be a good choice but you will need more mounting room. I have 3 group 31s but don't pull a lot of cranks.

I have NEVER ran down my golf cart batteries. I'd rather have em, and not need em, instead of Need em and not have em!!! I do pull cranks, and they are the stuff. No longer than a 31, but more height. Bout 100# each tho. Well worth it!!!! I sell the U.S. Battery 12v model, like John's. 292 amp hrs. More than any other battery out there, and a lot less money than the Trojans and Optima's.Quote:

Both BRM and torch are right. Depending on the boat, the use, the weight penalty the amp hours and the cost, one might be better than the other for you.

I agree Slimey. I had one go bad Sunday and the guy with the earring at Columbus Walmart hooked me up on a warranty on 3 year old battries. Only ketch was, I had to give em DD's phone number. Cheap price to pay to save bout $50. Thanks dd.Quote:

Thanks very much guys! I think i am going to go with the 29's from wallyworld, warranty is good, and a walmart almost everywhere i fish, and they are open 24 hours. I appreciate the info!!!
