I was planning to follow stu around, but he may not be able to make it so you're on your own. Maybe Jack has some ideas! I'll know more after Thurs and Fri. Russ will be here Fri and I'll be fishing Thurs and Fri. Wind too bad until then.
Jack who???????????
Lemme know who's coach. I have plenty of spots for pre-fishing. Gonna try a couple this morning...
crappiegirl1 - I'll find some slabs for you to catch.
You ever heard of that radio program. MIKE AND MIKE? I think they are the onez that dialed up this Monroe vs Talquin superfish playoff and anybody prefishing you all need to come up with a huddle say fri night and pm everyone your collective thoughts so the TEAM can carry out the Play in tbe designated areas that would be suggested as the best game play for the day.
Hmmmmm....I never needed a playbook to go by to catch fish...But it better have good pictures so Speckletater will know what is going on!!RoflRoflRofl
OOOOOPS!!!!!....Sorry...I was in the wrong huddle:yikes
whos bringing the "game whistle"?
Be nice if someone from talquin had "skype" on their phone and someone"me" had skype on their phone! Now we can see pictures as we talk of the weigh ins ----------------wouldnt that be just toooo much!!!
at talquin they skype hunt everynight. opppps thats snipe hunt. oh well they don't know the differance.

That is a very good idea. We will work on it for the repeat this fall.
Huddle????? I am following SYG's signature, dump 10 poles with 2 baits a piece and troll till the battery is dead or times up. Just remember CG! Lake Monroe is East of the ramp not south, or turn left out the basin not right, go under the big bridge not the little one.
Map of Monroe...no secrets here. Where you see the dots are where you'll find boats and there all good places to fish. In a lake like Monore there aren't really any secret places. It's possible to get into them anywhere on the lake and then we can pass the word etc. I'll be scouting Thursday and Friday and Russ and Fred will be out Friday. We'll pass on anything we find. If you're not familiar with the lake you might print your map and bring it Saturday morning. The park opens at 7 but some of us will be there around 6:30 and if the ranger sees us they usually let us in early. The fee is $2.00. We can discuss strategy etc. before we head out to put some whipping on the Team Talquin Powder. Plan to be back at the park at noon or shortly after for the weigh in. Have your biggest fish identified so flycaster can get a weight on the heaviest seven fish easier and faster etc. We'll be placing the call and hearing them cry at 12:30PM.
Hey , Specknator, do you know the directions to the ramp that CG1 uses , am trying to team up with them ?? Its the Volusia ramp , don't know much about the Monroe area except where the wayside ramp and Lake Monroe Park ramp is ???? RR.
The Volusia ramp is where the Slabfest was. Lake Monroe Park.
Thanks Mike , I'll be there with my secret lures LOL
Secret lures??:yikes...Maybe I better get back in that wrong huddle again......Rofl
O yea , they are secret , I got em at BPS LOL
NOW THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:fish
All I need to know is what weight jigs you guys use , my fishing is in 5 ft or less so I have 1/32 tied on ? Do I need to go up to 1/16 or more ?
Although I am crossing enemy lines here :yikes.....I would think that the 1/32 jigs are gonna be fine. Lake Monroe, for the most part isn't very deep. Just my opinion..I am expecting the fish to be in shallower water at Talquin this weekend and I am sure I will be running some 1/32...maybe even double 1/32 on some poles and 1/16 on others to try and find a pattern(hopefully)
Ignore all that crappie, he's setting you up. Here's what you might do......I would think that the 1/32 jigs are gonna be fine. Lake Monroe, for the most part isn't very deep. Just my opinion..I am expecting the fish to be in shallower water this weekend and I am sure I will be running some 1/32...maybe even double 1/32 on some poles and 1/16 on others to try and find a pattern(hopefully)
Hope this helps,
Mike
Sounds like a plan to me ! RR

Who all is fishing Monroe tomorrow. I'm going to put in at the ramp across from the park at about 6am.
I just noticed Team Talquin has been quiet today...Hookers computer went on the blink with him and I was at Lake Blackshear fishing today....BUT, I did talk with Hooker and Rawhide today and..............Can't wait till Saturday!!!...Leaving for Talquin in about 6 hours...Gotta get some rest...Good luck all and be safe!
Got the batteries charging up, poles rigged, and boat loaded. Gotta grab ice and minnows otw out tomorrow morning. The weather looks like it will be choppy out there around 0800. NE @ 16 mph. I may have to drift fish. Can't wait to hear that fish finder start chirping. Shoots, if they don't bite I may take my long fins and go in after'em. HERE FISHY FISHY FISHY!
What is the best ramp to use? the one at I-4? I heard alot of break-ins happen there.
