Would give it a hard look.
Working on putting something together Major. A lot of these towns give pretty good $ to get these tourneys and feel like that should be added back in the payouts.
Would be interesting. Yes those towns do pay to have the tournaments held at their towns, but it does cost some pretty serious $$ to staff, insure, advertise, travel, and all the other expenses it takes to make them work. All the money given by town can not be added back to the pay outs or it would have to be run by locals for free. I am all about better pay outs. We been working on that too. Just about all of our tournaments run us in the red because we don't get very much of any kind of help from the communities around our lakes. Crappie Masters has the best pay out schedule out there today. Those communities also get back way more than is given because of the anglers that visit those towns numerous times and for long periods of time. I am interested to see how this works out.
150% is way more than 50% more than other tournaments pay.
Might jackpot a local or close - Grenada, Sardis, but serious travel on a trail like that would knock me out even if it was 250% payback. Just ain't got the time (ie permission). :)
Wannabe...
Who's gonna donate the extra 50%? Oh, just finished reading, NEVER MIND!!!

Everyone figgered you would BRM! rotfl
Just a few thoughts. Most CVB's want 50 boat guarantees for 1 days and 75 boats for 2 days. For 1 day events 7500 is the max and average 5500. So let's say you have 50 boats and you got $6000 from CVB ( and that would be a real stretch) with a $300 entry fee to make the 150% you need to pay out 22,500 that would be 15,000 in entry fees, 6,000 from CVB and $1500 from your pocket or sponsors.. If you got surprised and 80 boats show up you need 36k to pay out CVB stays the same and you need 6k from somewhere else.
Now of course you could lower the entry fees to say $100 and make the formula work but will teams travel for small payouts that would come?
Now 2 day events average CVB funding is $10,000 with 100 boat guarantee with penalty of $50 to $75 per boat you short. With that math $200 entry fees would work out perfect if you hit the number exact. Anything below or above and it is money from your pocket.
With all that considered I have decided crappie tournament fishing is pretty risky business and the thought that a staff of volunteers would work for free very long or diligently is not realistic.
Not trying to rain on anyone's parade hey I would fish for big pay-outs no doubt but the longevity of such a Series would be very questionable in my opinion.
Man that would be awesome. It was 2 that was not included in the over 40 CVB contracts I have reviewed in the last year. The largest I have seen was 17,500 2 day and had a boat load of stipulations. Now there have been a few multi- event contracts that eclipsed that number but those would have to be divided up into multiple pay-outs. Some of the larger contracts covered feeding the teams and rental fees for facilities with rules dictating % of money must be spent with companies inside the city limits.
Ok I have talked to some CVB's and feel I can get 60k out of them for a 40 boat 2 day tournament. 40 boats at 300.00 is 12k for a total of 72000.00. if you break it down thats a lot of money to be dispersed.
Shelby, Ms ain't gonna pay that kinda money. Pffffft.
You guarantee a 50k pay-out and you will have over 100 boats and I will be one of them.
