New stuff
For me anyway. I posted that I would post some pics of some collared 1/32 or 1/64 jigs that I use for gills, and the Crappie like em too, so here they are. The white is a Maggot tied on a #8 hook, using synthetic dubbing. Haven't tried it yet but I bet it will be a hit. The 1/8oz is my first attempt at a Christmas jig, though I didn't have the Kelly green chenille to finish it off right. Thoughts please.

Nicely Done Skeet. Yes get you some kelly green chenille and tie up some of them Christmas jigs. I know you will like them and so will the Crappies. Will have to tie up a few of that maggot pattern and see how it works.

Merry Christmas...lol. They look great Tim. The blue eyes look good. That maggot will surely attract the bluegills.

Them are some nice ties. Got a question though, that maggot what size is it?? When I fly fish for bull gills I use a popper-dropper rig so the dropper can't be too big or it will sink the popper. I've caught doubles on this rig it's a hoot to nail 2 -9in gills at a time!!

The maggot is tied on a #8 Eagle Claw bait holder hook after crushing the baitholders. It could go smaller without any problem, and would be hot on a popper/dropper rig. We used a Zara Spook and a dropper tied to the back hook for Sea Trout in Mosquito Lagoon, and it's great when two of those get on the same rig. Yarn and wool roving ( Hobby Lobby) would also work for the body, super simple tie.

Those jigs with the hackle are awesome. What is the recipe on them? I would like to get some tied for the bluegill spawn.

Where do you get your material from the best places? Looks great learning to tye but i can see have a long way to go!!!!

Jackie, I order some on line and grab stuff to try wherever I can find it. That's not the cheapest but it lets me try different stuff. I drive for a living and stop at outdoor stores whenever I can, and also have some goofy sruff that I tried and won't use much of ever again. Thanks for the flowers.

Those maggot jigs will work great, I have about 75 different combos my friend makes out of floss, and uses a lead rap underneath for wieght... Fish love em!

Skeet if you don't want to mess with the dubbing find some white shammy's and cut really thin strips and tie em up with that - or white foam sheet cut the same way - they last a long time!!!!!!!!! and sharpies will color them fine.

Very nice jigs! Like the red at the top!
