any of ya'll heard anything about these lakes? most are Oxbow lakes of the Yazoo River. ANY info on any of them wood be just peachy

They are all private DD, my uncle owns them. Uncle Posted he owns a lot of land around the country every where I go I see one of his signs.
I used to fish Dump and Horseshoe years ago.

Thinking about it Sticksteer. Saw it was kinda on the way back from bee down highway 3. If I can't get anythin g to happen at Bee, I might just atleast ride back through and look at Dump

Just got back from fishing Dump. There's a ramp on the road. The road goes along the shore on south side of lake. Some good fishing in the lake early in the year and in the fall. Saw two big gators today. The big bull was kinda jumpy. Kept my distance from that dude.Quote:

You can cancel wading little eagle. I saw the biggest gator I have ever seen in that place. Longer than the 2 man boat me and my buddy were in. That dude jumped up on a cypress log quicker than you could blink. He made a growling noise at us. Needless to say I turned the trolling motor on high and left him the whole south end of the lake.
Great Bass fishing lake. The first bass I caught out of that lake was a 7.5 pounder that I had mounted. Not the biggest I ever caught, but I mounted her anyway.
ALOT of Cypress trees. More than a person could fish in a month of fishing.
I have only fished Little Eagle one time. Snagged a gator, had to be what it was, drug a 18 foot Champion all over the place before rolling over and breaking the line. It was fun and serious at the same time, tried to get the guy I was fiching with to just cut the line but he held on till it was over. Aint reaching in the water and aint fishing out of no little boat in there.Quote:

Pinchback has some great crappie fishing as well as bream but like duckhunter said, it's hard to get in with no public ramps. Has some great crappie fishing around the cypress knees along the banks and the water drops off pretty quick off the banks. The lake gets real muddy sometimes when the farmers are working the land around it oh and did i say it's got gators in it but most of the delta lakes do.

seen gators in bee while wading there before. usually, the gators are not a problem in early spring, as the water is too cold. but, bigfeets..................thats another story.Quote:

Could not understand it, DD. Water temps in mid to high 60's and no fish on the bank at Dump. Caught all my fishes about 5 ft. around stumps out in 8 feet of water. Not many trees to fish around in this lake, but plenty of stumps and logs. I don't think the days are long enough yet to make fishes move up on the banks.
Length of day ain't got nothing to do with it,,,, Water Temp, when that temp hits 62 get ready its on.
By afternoon water was up to 71, if Humminbird was right. Not a fish was caught that had any color except white. No males on the banks. Not even small ones. Females had eggs, but light yellow. No blood veins or orange color. So why were the fishes not doing their thing?Quote:

Its a wash, longer days make for warmer temps. But it dont hold perfectly true, deeper water lakes the spawn will be later than a shallower lake rite next door. Okatibbee spawns before the big 4, warmer temps.Quote:

Now that's strange. My place is covered up with dogwoods, but none of'em blooming. Redbuds in bloom, along with pears and plums.
I had to run over and help a bud charge the AC is his wifes car at lunch and most of the Dogwoods, redbuds, Azaleas and such we're either budding or blooming between here and there
dogwoods not blooming yet at the house, only peach trees and pear. Water temp at rez hit 65.2 yesterday and not the first fish off shallow ground. All females I caught were loaded with eggs but still bright yellow like Mr Joh said and were caught fairly deep. I'm just glad its going to cool off some this weekend so maybe the fish and water temp and length of days and everything else that plays a part get back in sync with each other.
What does all this have to do with Oxbow lakes and gators chasing you???
No dogwoods blooming around my house either... Bradford pears sure are though
I think when the Dogwoods bloom the gators come out . It don't get cold enough to send them packing . So on good warm day they will be out sunning like them cotton mouth .
