Not sure. I heard last week about it and seen on the website that it is going to happen. I feel they need to move the one pole to August and leave the minnows out of it and have the other tournament in June and allow it to be open for rigging and minnows. Would see much better tournament weights that way. Just my thoughts.
Some people just don't feel like they can catch a fish without a minner, but it's called The Ultimate Challenge and I feel they should have left it alone.
Local bait shops not selling minnows. Loss of $$$$
The ultimate has been minnow free the whole time, so there wouldn't have been any loss of revenue in minnows.
Only way to show them that we dont like the use of minnows is not to fish it, call, or email and voice your opinion. I for one do not like the idea of using minnows either. It all boils down to the $$$$.
Organizations cater to the most influential sponsors and clientel.
Follow the $$$ and there you will find your answer.
Maybe more will partipate and there will be a bigger payout?????????
Time will tell if the participation is bigger or not.
I do believe their should be whole series of single pole artificial.

What turnament is this were taken about any info???banghead
I really really dont like it but I'm not going to not fish it, it has always been my favorite tournament. I have a feeling that it will go back to artificial only after this one. I sure would love to see a ultimate challenge tournament trail.
It has been my favorite too, and much of that was the format. I like the other tournaments too, but liked the challenge of the ultimate, the level playing field.
I think it should stay artificial like it was.
I would vote for that trail. That would be fun fun fun. That is my favorite one of the year, and still will be even if they allow minnows.I have not bought or used a minnow in 7-8 years and dont think they will make that big a difference.Sure there are times they will out produce a jig but that can be said like wise for the jig also.If they are hungry they will eat what put in front of them with the right presentation
Defeats the purpose…
But, as a diehard tournament angler, it's all I have so I have to support it.
