Any crappie fishing going on this winter at woods creek ?
Really any fishing information would be great.

Not sure about Woods Creek but I went to KY River today used jigs and got nothing.
I live 10 miles from the lake and haven't dipped a jig in it this year. Me and the missus fish it regularly for big bluegill in warmer times, but all of the crappie I saw last year were 6-7" young 'uns. They're there, but hard to come by.
Thanks for the reply.
I live on Lem Bruner Ln. off PineTop Rd. Moved down here from Wisconsin 5 years ago and just now starting to think about fishing again. Have Arthritis pretty bad and am hopeing this year I can avoid Surgery.
When do the Gills start ?
I sent a PM with my Email Address so we can talk ?
Hope to here from you :fish
I live in Somerset and have never been on that lake. What do people mainly fish for on it?

KDFWR says Largemouth Bass & Channel Catfish fishing is rated "good" .... everything else is rated "fair" (except Smallmouth Bass, which are rated "poor"). Crappie are there in good numbers, but mostly < 9"
... cp
I fished it once back in my bass fishing days. It's a nice place to fish, but we were targeting bass.
Thanks Pappy and Mep.....
I fished Woods creek today for 3 hours without a hit.
Tried for panfish only.
What a great day to test out the boat !!
Woods Creek is somewhat of a "dead sea" in my opinion. Some years back, it was a great place to fish, for the past 4-5 years, I haven't had any luck catching keeper size fish. I catch fish, just alot of smaller fish, I caught a boat load of crappie 2 years ago, about 4 - 6 inches, same with bluegill. I haven't caught a walleye or a spoonbill yet, some small catfish and bass. The state record did come from Wood Creek, and some people have alot of luck or at least they say they do, I know at any given time, it's crowded, but it's close by and easy to get to. Just my 2 cents worth, which isn't much, but there it is.
The woods creek area got hit with a Tornado and 4 people were killed. The roads were closed. I could see that line of storms to the north of me and it sure looked bad. I did not see the Tornado though.
Yeah, it's total devastation in part of the area, a few homes on the lake were hit, a total of 5 People have been confirmed dead, I was in the area yesterday checking on my property and it's a very heart breaking scene, my thoughts and prayers go out to not only these, but all areas and families that battled the rough weather on Friday. And I thank God for his many blessings, and pray his grace upon all those affected.
They have our prayers, and any other help we can give.
Anyone doing good yet on Woods Creek ?
The nice weather should get them going !
I've heard some good reports from Woods Creek this week, but personally haven't had a chance to get over and fish it.
I fished for Bluegills today from 10am to 2:30pm and had some fun with 12 gills over 7" and probably I caught at least 50 smaller gills.
Red worms in 6ft of water 2ft to 3ft below a boober.
