When the water is gin clear what color do you have the most success with?
by far my best color for clear water is Kalin's Tenn Shad on plain jig head:fish
pink/white,purple/white,pink/chartruce
Pink/Chartreuse or White/Red/Gray
Orange and chartruse has worked well for me in clear water, not bad in stained water either.
Purple/chartruse or sliver/white. I fished clear deep water in the river today and they were killing the purple/chartruse ''Nimrod Special''
Note to self...
Go buy more jigs of different colors and toss in gun box...

What is clear water?
Thanks for the responses guys. An interesting range of colors being used out there.
Good post here. Will it is for me as I was not to sure what to fish with in clear water. To give me a little more Clarence how do you deturment How clear the water is? Do you call water clear if you see jig 1 foot under water or is the to close to top to be clearer dose it need to be seen at a deeper depth.
If you can see your jig deep than 5' I call it clear water. There are times on Greers you can see it way deeper than that but not right now.
on greers ferry if you can see your jig more than 5' its clear and norfork and Bull shoals because of all the sandstone rock it is even clearer than that.Sometimes on Bull Shoals you can see 10' easy. You know the fish can see you and your boat hard to fish espically getting right over the brush or fish we use 1/48 oz,1/32 oz jigs to try and catch them.
Tenn. Shad, or Solid Chartruese. Solid chartruese especially if i'm fishing over 15' deep. Not as much light down deep.
Bobby garland orange or chartreuse jig head pearl color jig
Something I can take away from these two threads is that I have been neglecting the orange and yellow colors in my tackle box. Quite a few people on here use these two colors in both clear and stained water.
Bull shoals has the clearest water I have ever fished, the lower reaches of Ouachita is next in line, my local lake, Dardanelle is super clear if you can see a jig 2' deep..I think clarity is a relative thing to the particular body of water your fishing. I also think that the fishes therein ajust to their surroundings, a fish that has spent his life in very clear waters are probably more sight feeders than one's who have lived their life in "stained water" Hey,,thats how I see it..lol pun intended.
i've been fishing Bull Shoals all my life but I'm new to crappie fishing. I have a Ranger boat and if any of you wants to come fish Bull on a Wed. or a Thurs. and show me how to catch crappie in clear water the offer is open. As far as clear water I've seen the bottom in 25 foot at times on Bull.
