Rumor on the street is your a guide on shelbyville!!!! No more help for you, ya rascal! lol :fish:popcornrotfl
lol i heard that weeks ago! i was wondering why he was asking for help after hearing that.
Heh Birdy, I think slabdaddy owes you a cut? I smell a partnership?? You can scout 'em, and slabdaddy will catch 'em??? You can call your new business Baddy's Crappy Service????
Yes Birdy that true. Iam license & Insuerd. All i ask is what end the bite is on. Now if you want too stop that that is find i dont no what guide fish both end of the lake at the same time. It is nothing iam trying too hide. Iam not asking for bussiness iam ask for sportmanship. Iam not on here cutting no one bussiness up like other so if me being a guide stop own love for the sport iam sorry.
thats why i dont put none of my catches or reports on here.like me and killinducks was talking about we use to see 10 or 15 boats at rend now there is 30
you know I come to this forum pge to find out,
1) how the fishing is going,
2) to see if my fellow crappie fisherman are havin good or bad luck
3) and to learn about new rigs and tech's
I also never worry about how many new boats i see at the lake lol
I fish to have fun and eat a few, I don't know about the rest of my fellow crappie fisherman
ps: grats slabdaddy
Just my 2 cents, but if I get a tip from anyone on here (I have and it is much appreciated) on where the bite is, or what someone caught them on, or how deep, I would not then use that info to take others out there for money! If nothing else, a professional (and that's what a guide is) should already know these answers because they are on the water 200+ days a year! That said, Birdy, where they bitin? ;)
I had seen his ad on heartland outdoors for a few weeks. Thought it was odd a guide was needing so much help from other fisherman. @shortgrub I think the number of boats he was refering to was the explosion of guides on Rend this upcoming year. Might as well throw my hat in the ring and ask everyday where and how to catchem then go make some coin.
Shame on you, slabdaddy ..I'm not big on people who hide things. I've shared info with anyone on here who has asked. I guess I need to be more selective.
seems like everytime someone post something on these board they have to defend themselfs. everyone wants to make money fishing i started guiding on rend lake when i was 17 years old helping todd gessner when he had sors southern outdoor recreation service. know there is over 15 guide services on rend lake everyone needs help now and then i have called crappie exreme for info and they have called me ect.

guys I didnt want this to be a bashing thread.. I personally dont care if he is guiding on shelbyville or any other lake. I was bein lighthearted about this and keepin it loose..I just was real surprised to find out he is guiding on s-ville and askin for all the help but as jiggin said everybody needs help sometimes, including me.
The only help you need Birdie is cleaning them. LOL
Slabdaddy - I too have no problem with ya guiding. If you have an opportunity to make some money fishing, more power to ya! Jiggin - I disagree that everyone wants to make money fishing. I have a job that I enjoy and fish for the fun. I joined SCC not to win money in tournaments, but to meet new people and have a good time!
I have been throwing the idea around about guiding on Shelbyville as well. Not to gain any money but mostly for something fun to do in the summer. I am a teacher by trade and traditionally have most of my summer off. Just thought what better way to spend it than helping people figure out how to catch crappie when its 100 degrees outside! SLABDADDY IF YOU WANT ANY INFO I WILL SHARE IT. AND IF I START GUIDING YOU DO THE SAME FOR ME! HECK, LETS JUST TEXT INFO SO WE DON'T HURT ANYBODYS FEELINGS! Its all in good ole fun! FISH ON!
Never have i try too hide anything 16 too ask a guys that on lake are they biting is that unsportmen like conduct. Because i guide partime.
Slabdady should have told told everyone on the forum he was guiding, i think he made a mistake by not doing that. Thats my 2 cents
Hey guys I am thinking about guiding on Shelbyville could I "ask for help" maybe get your waypoints and boat color to "help" me help my clients. Ill need your cell numbers also in case I get on the lake and cant find fish you can "help" me get em on the fish......... Actually maybe you could wait for me at the ramp and me and my clients will just follow your boat around you could be my chauffeur. Also could you let me borrow some tube jig bodies and maybe tell me what color to buy. It would be in my clients best interest \...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Don't bother me at all that Daddy guides on the lake. I would'nt pay for a guide on my home lake anyway. The people that are upset are the ones who think by giving out information that makes them a better sportsman than those who don't. I know and fish with a lot of people on Shelbyville who really know how to get it done on this lake. They don't feel the need to come on here and talk about everytime the get a limit.. These same people would be glad to help you if they know you by your name. They just prefer to do it not on an internet forum.. Before you all start telling me how unsportsman like that is. Let me Explain... I have been a memeber on here for a long time. What I like about CDC is reading about equipment, rods, reels, fishing line, baits, boats motors. The list goes on and on. The fact that I chose not to publicly broadcast my fishing reports in deatail is just a choice I make. I have fished with Birdman several times over the years and learned a few things as well. We veiw things differently but, we still remain freinds. Anyone that knows me also knows I will help them if I can. Just not going to do it on a public forum when it comes to Detailed reports. There are to many other things to talk about on here other than giving a detailed report everytime you put your boat in the water. Find some freinds who really like to crappie fish and you won't need to ask on a forum how to catch em. Last but not least. Yes I have met some great people on this forum and hope to meet a few more someday. Good luck to you all.
Here is my 2 cents on this matter, I don't care who guides on Shelbyville but I think there sould be a limit on how many there sould be. If you get too many guides, then that would put the hurt on the fish. With that being said, it does make us that fish just for fun and to catch some for a meal hard. God know and I have seen this that when I do fish from a boat everyone want to come right up and fish right up your butt. And that is not counting on all the vacationers who I do welcome cause that does help the economy for our community.
Not that anyone asked me, but I don't think that's cool at all. Tyler is very generous with helping people and if I was him, I'd feel as though I was taken advantage of.
Besides that, how is school Tyler?
Personally, I do not care who guides on the lake. However, as a paying client it would bother me that my guide has so little confidence in his abillity to put me on fish that he feels it necessary to get on a website such as this one and seek daily information as to where, how, and when to catch the fish. I know several guides on the lake quite well, and to my knowledge, although they are more than willing to give me help, have never solicited information from the local fishermen on this or any other website.
I don't know most of you guys personally, but seems like everyone has an opinion.....so I have one too.
Making a living guiding is a VERY tough job, and I tip my hat to most people who choose to put themselves on the line on a daily basis to do that. If you turn out not to have the skills to accomplish the job it will be real hard on the ego. I have only used a guide a few times in my life, but always got a good trip.
Good luck on your venture slabdaddy.
I myself don't care who guides on Shelbyville . It's a big lake and I'm sure there is places to this day that has not been fished . I don't get out like I used to but wish I could . Anybody that knows me over there can ask me and I'll help them . I've even been fishing an area and invited people to fish the same hole I am . I don't care. Now lets go fishn and stop bitchn
OH BOY, keep this up and I may put MY 2 cents in,,,,but some of you already know how I feel....so I will try to be brief. If you have a brain in your head, you should know that every word missssspellllled here will be read by a lot of people. The thing you have to remember is that when you post on here that you caught a bunch of fish,,,,,,oh lets say,,,,,in the bay East of No Name, where you put a bunch of brushpiles and marked them with rocks ( sound familiar to someone? ) (it should) that you are probably ruining the fishing for the other guys that were already fishing in that bay, because now 10 new boats are helping you clean them. Try posting some decent current info here in 3 weeks and see how many hits it gets.
I have a suggestion for all fishermen. quit freakn cutting every keeper you get to take a pic of and save the fishery.
Make no mistake. The amount of fish leaving that lake is hurting it. The top (worst) 10 guys there are killing more than the bottom 500. WE have the best lake in the state and I would like to keep it that way. If you are one of those guys in the middle of the pack and don't always get a limit. keep some to eat whenever you go. It won't hurt a thing.
even birds know not to crap in their own nests,,,,,most of them. LOL
crappie10- just because people CAN catch a limit everytime out, doesnt mean they keep them every time out. The majority of the time I get my limit, or catch well over my limit, and I would say 50% of the time I dont keep anything just like catching them. In fact (yes I know this is illegal) the last three times out I have caught my limit from the south end, got to the ramp, and didnt feel like cleaning them so I just release them and watch them all swim away. I know xxl releases fish way way more than he keeps them, as well as several of the people he fishes with. Were not all bad fishermen, and HOPEFULLY if they cut fish, they are going to eat them and just not let them get freezer burnt. That being said.. now im going to go have to go see if I have all those piles in the east bay there marked on my gps or if I missed some!
thanks for the tip crappie10,herecomes boat #11...lol
Boat #12....and I told 20 buddies. Have to look for more rocks on the north end. Thanks Birdy
Nope but it sure helps when you look for those spots when bank fishing. I always put my bank marks 20 steps from the structure. I just wish I could remember if it was 20 to the right or 20 to the left.....
There we go, we have found the culprit. its been xxl all along! haha
you guys continue to give me reasons to not ever post good info on here.
I do find it odd that a guide would ask for help on a public site.
Rofl
Several weeks ago, I read that the guys that REALLY know the lake and are quietly catching most of the fish aren't going to post here and brag about it.
Inviting yourself into the clubhouse is not the same thing as having everyone assume you built it.
Anyone that butchers the English language that bad is playing stupid.
Getting out of hand dudes. Why don't we talk some fishin' ? .......and you know this will be downhill from here so move on boys and GIRLS! Gotta be some GIRLS on here the way it looks!:fish
You & me both Ken, Just hope all this bickering does not spark the intrest of DNR. If your legal then guide! If you take people out, you better have it together, because if something happens??? Ken, Me & the wife will be down end of march. Give me a call we'll go do some RELAXING fishing.
Anyone that butchers the English language as he does, has got to be "playing" shtoopit.
i do the same. take pictures and release, most swim away
