Since I am in the market for a new jig pole....any words of wisdom before I buy one??
Any graphite light weight two piece a must....I have old Uncle Buck rods that have held up good. I Like 10 or 11 foot married with a Spinning reel...so as to flip docks stumps and cast some with small bobber, in addition to vertically wacking them.

I really like my B&M - Russ Bailey edition and my B&M - Buck's Graphite Jig Pole. I really would like to try a Sam Heaton Super Sensitive...I think it might be better suited for single poling.
I use the tournament choice Rods at academy. Can't beat em for the money.

I prefer a B&M. I have both Buck's Best and the Ultralight. I have 2 eleven's but I love my 10's.
I like the old B-n-M Buck's jig poles in 12' but the new models are second rate IMO
I use Bucks's BGJP and have not had any trouble out of them.
B&m 11'
I use B&Ms, but have heard some good things about Ozarks and have seen them at Bates.

10 foot rear seated Ozark, is the lightest, most sensitive, toughest rod you can find a great rod for jigging around timber. The Ozark 11 footer is heaver but more tougher, still sensitive and has the back bone to wear em out of deep water or heavy brush. You should put your hands on these two rods before you bye Larry. The solid titanium tip is awsome. PM me if you need more info.
Oh ya I have probly turned on about 20 of my fishing buddy's with the Ozark rod over the last year and not one has been reported broken yet. And they all love the rods. Just Saying...
I agree the new B&M jig poles don't seem to be what the older ones are. I'm going to check into the 11' Ozark.
Just checked...pretty sure all, but one of my BnM jig poles are the older versions too. Haven't used the new one much.
