Reading all the boat restoration projects around here lately has got me to do my old boat. I bought it new in 1988 from Hills Marine in Tupelo, MS for 6750.00. Now the same boat is double that!!!! What's the deal!!!

Should I use premium carpet or the vinyl stuff?
Man, you really are stripping it down. Looking forward to watching the progress. Check with Satdoc about the carpet, he did his last year.

Im also gonna completely redo the trailer too. Paint it, new LED lights and wiring, new winch and jack, new bunks. Already got new tires. And I always keep bearings packed.
Get Marine carpet where ever you get it, price most likely determine where if it were me. Guess I need to take some pics of my project.
Lowes has some good carpet used it when i recarpeted my boat 2 yrs. ago. Holding up real good.
You can get the same carpet from Lowes or Home Depot that they sell at BPS and save big time. I had a man in Greenville do mine last year and he charged 200.00 labor. Carpet and glue wernt much more. Less than 400.00 total invested. And YOU STILL GONNA GET CUT for the nap querk.
hey wannabe, just how much more pressure can you take. another total lost boat that will make your's look like ned and the first reader by the time you get yours on the lake,,,,,,, this is gettin ugly in a hurry.............

I have the exact same boat. Same year model, color, and whole nine yards. I bought from my grandfather a few years ago. My first boat to own at the ripe old age of 22. I love it handles the rough water on the core lakes well. Me and a buddy fished the butla FJ two years back in it. Its cool to see another one out there. Thanks for sharing. My grandfather put the gray carpet from lowes in it just before I purchased it. The carpet has held up great. Good luck on the project.
