Very good and informative article!!!!
Great Place to visit and enjoy down home hospitality. Great fishing.
Nice article, great information. Thanks for sharing.
Good article , way to go Jared!!
I wonder how far in back of the boat do they put the lines out? I know it changes fromtrip to trip but where is the starting point?
a good rule of thumb is to make a good cast and close the bail, and you can control the lure depth via speed, heavier or lighter jigs/lures, size of line, etc. A good way to determine lure depth for your set up is to find some shallow water, say 10fow, and the make a normal cast, and troll at a set speed and see if you bump bottom. Adjust your speed until you bump bottom, and now you have a baseline to go on.
Great Read and a lot of great info.:biggrin
Great Job Fellas! Ive Been To Lake Talquin Lodge, & Have Become A Regular, 2 Times A Year Patron. Can Hardly Wait For April!!! My Fishing Partner (quickhook) Likes It So Much He's Set Up Permanently There.
Glad you'all enjoyed the article! Bill and I had a really good time fishing with Jared and spending time with his mom, Pat. I'm fortunate to live and guide on KY Lake and I know a good crappie lake when I fish one and Talquin is right up there with the best of the best. I'd been long trolling for crappie this fall and winter and spending some time with Jared really helped get me dialed in on this technique.Jared is a very good guide and yes, he's a fun person to be around. Give him or Pat a call they'll show you some real southern hospitality.Randy Kuhensa.k.a."Kick'n Bass"
Very good article. Lots of good info for folks new to long line trolling and for those that have been at it for a while. Congrats Jared and thanks Randy for writing the article.
Very good read!
