Does anyone know where I can find some round stock made out of Teflon? Maybe 2" in diameter.
Gotta be teflon or just white plastic. Check out McMaster-Carr , great online catalogue. Or also try Graingers
Here is where we buy our round stock. You want PTFE
Im going to use this to put in the pedestal base in my Ranger. Going to machine it down and put a 3/4" hole in the center. I dont particullary like what I have and the 3/4" pin pedestals are easier to find and get. So thats what I'm up to, all help appreciated. Thanks Dex.
You will like it when done Dex. I got inserts from Bass Pro to convert mine from 1.77" to 3/4" pin for my add a seat. Bases are much cheaper also. i can still take mine out if needed and use my hyd. adjustable seat post. Bass Pro had the adapters for the Rangers for $20. May be worth that to not have to mess with the time on the mill and lathe. Then you would be able to take out and in like mine are.

Thanks everybody for the info. Just another reason why we should support this site and the people that make it happen. Jared, going by after work to check them out, call me later on the poles, thanks.
Will do. I thought maybe you were just a tight @%$ trying to save a buck.:biggrin
Actually your idea is considerabbly cheaper than buying teflon. But at times I have been called a tight @%$ and a smart @%$ if you can believe that!!!!!Rofl
Jared, had to take back the BPS inserts. Yhey are too big for holes in the floor, back to square one.
Dexter if you were going to make some on the lathe turn down the inserts?
Dexter. Great to speak with you today. You can turn down the inserts or make new out of UHMW plastic. It machines great and wears like iron, we use it at work. Think Graingers sells 2" OD for bout $8.35 a foot. You will need a flange on top so better figure on 2 1/2" or 3" OD round stock. If you wish, I can bring my calipers home next Sunday and measure up for your seat adapters. U are only couple miles down 7 hwy. But-think Bass Pro is havin locator seminars from 2p-4p Sunday and gotta be there for that. U can text me, PM, or Voice Mail.
I had to turn down one of mine also. The one on the back deck for some reason was to tight. Mine are a little differant than yours but we took off the O rings and chucked it up and took several thousandths off of it. I believe you're are tapered instead straight like up and down like mine. So will be a little tougher but can be done.
Thanks everybody, problem solved. I found one at Cabelas around back at the service dept and a buddy found one for me. I'm good to go.
Good deal. Fish better look out now.
You might try Industrial Plastics out of California. Thats where I get my PTFE (Teflon). Just Google it and it will come up. Teflon night be a little soft for the pressure of the seats. They sell a kinds of plastics you might want to find a litte harder plastic they sell all kinds! If you do not find it PM me and I can send you a link.
