Ain't been on the water, but rabbit hunting around Greene Co. I've seen a couple dozen around. 9 were in one field at a time bout a week ago. They seem to be pretty thick right now. Very beautiful birds. Just wondering where a person could go locally and see a few on the lake with the family. Big lake? Ashbaugh?

There are usually always a couple on Ashbaugh.
I've seen several on Beaver lately.
I saw one a few days ago on the lake in Pope and I've seen one regularly in Omaha (Boone County) off of Hwy 65. Saw another one on a perch a few days ago, but can't remember where in the world I was.
There has been as many as 3 in the Trumann area. Saw all 3 together and called some friends which saw them also. One of those hung out at the sewer ponds for a few weeks, but I haven't seen it in a week or 2. I'll keep my eagle eye out and if I see any at lake allotahockey, I'll let you know or tell Carol to let you know.
See'em on Brewer.

Very common to see them every winter on Nimrod. We have a pair stayed all summer last year.
Dang Billy, that's a flock of eagles.
Yes Creek - My wife and I enjoy looking for them. We have located 6 nests in the past 15 years and it is about a 200 mile round trip for the day. They are a amazing bird and if you have not seen one in person, you cant imagine how big they are. I don't hunt ducks but as a bird watcher I have seen ducks that you need a book to name. We a blessed to live in a great outdoor state like Arkansas. In addition to our fishing the Fly way of the MS river produces some beautiful birds.
See them near the I 430 bridge near Little Rock, around Benton on the Saline River and on Lake Maumelle and Lake Conway.
check this site out and add to your favs if you like. they have two cameras set up on this eagles nest and last year i saw them from the time they started stabilizing the nest to the young taking flight. the same two should start work on it any time now.

Seen one At Toadsuck last week.
Wife and I were driving through Boxley a couple of weeks ago and saw 8 mature bald eagles sitting on the ground around a small pool of water. By the time I could turn around and get back, watched 5 fly off but got the attached photos of three left on the ground about 100 yards from the highway. Another one sitting in a tree about a half mile down the road. It looks like white feathes are tufted! Never seen that! Beautiful birds!

Saw 2 on the black river by Elgin's Ferry trying to catch a crippled duck on the water. They timed their dives to wear the duck down till they caught it.
Have seen as many as 20 on Lake Fork in east Tex. at a time . They were there cuz there was a 10" min. on crappie . We/Us/They were catching crappie in 60' of water , the fishes floater would come up in their mouths and kill them. ( im talking good 8",9",9 7/8" inch crappie) the Eagles and turtles were feasting. You could actually run your boat under and around the trees the Eagles were stalking from. Awoesome sight . That went on for 3-4 ?? years , then the Parks and Wildlife Dept changed the size rule . Now in Dec, Jan, and Feb. you keep the first 25 you catch , no culling .
