Bill posted a real good link to read. With only a couple of companies manufacturing batteries under a bunch of different brand names what matters most to me is warranty support. Who do I have local access to in case I have to make a return and who offeres the best warranty on a similar sized battery.
Good info, thanks.
I buy my batteries from walmart. There is never a question as long as failure occurs during warranty
sears die hard got them they are great
but there are a lot of good brands, and worth checking out, I searched for a week and settled on Sears, good luck on your search
US Battery 12v Golf Cart Batteries. 292 amp hours for well back of 200. They have more amp hours than all the rest. I pulled cranks with mine last summer all day, and they held up better than any I've ever used, and I've tried them all.
BRM
US 185 HC XC costly, but you can troll cranks for a long time with it.

Key to any battery is the maintenance. Always recharge when you get back from a trip. Do not let it sit for a few days before you recharge.
I know, asking what battery to buy is like asking what reel to buy or what car to buy...many answers.
I bought "Cheap" batteries for a long time, but decided to spend a few extra bucks some years ago and get two quality batteries. One for cranking and one for trolling motor.
I'm running a pair of Optimas on my trolling motor an another Optima for the cranking battery.
