New yak, flock of turkey, couple dinks...
Dying to get some paddle time in on the new yak I set out for strip pits outside Rich Hill, MO.
Iced in, got on one, paddled about half way down, ice again.
Loaded and headed east, Clinton, W hwy, wind howling, looked at GPS, noticed a gravel road on opposite bank, poke gps, find route.
Get over there via U hwy, stop by Bucksaw, dead, return to route to cty rd 671... nice dead in at lake. Launch and head up river just shy of power line, come back down, paddling real hard, let it coast around a corner... if there were 20 there were 50 turkey right on the bank and spread up in the brush. Then reached for the camera I remember I brought... they spook, no pic.
Dipped a couple stobs, caught two shorts, no electronics on this yak yet, no tie offs to stay put... mostly just wanting to get the arms in shape.
Coming around on Z right at 13 there is a Armadillo crossing the road...
Running limb lines on a river is a blast.
This is probably a 25-30# grass carp caught on night crawler.
