Rickie, it's got to be well over a year now and you still harbor these regrets for buying an H/B and continue with the donut comments. Most folks would have to let it go after a period of time. When something bothers me, I try to let it go or move away from the problem. We were into this debate before, and you had the H/B donut thread as a sticky. I pushed it and got a reprimand. Rather than open crappie.com each day and look at the H/B donut sticky, I stopped posting and stayed away from the site. When the sticky went away and I thought the issue had run it's course, I thought it safe to come back. I'd like to stay, but if I continue to see the woe is me over the donut, that's not something I want to deal with again. Why not try letting the donut issue go for awhile. It worked for me. Who knows, maybe if you don't worry over it, H/b will come up with a fix.Quote:

Rickie, I support you, and not because I own Lowrance, it's because of the Donut that I now own Lowrance. I'm happy with the decision, and you should be able to be happy also. If you follow the rules of the site, you can speak your mind. Adults can ignore comments they don't like, or read a different thread.

Do you really think calling Humminbird software programmers, lazy, is a fitting way for an adult to get Humminbird to fix the donut. Ya think their programmers are sitting around with their feet on the desk chuckling that they aren't fixing the donut? I'm not Kosmo, and I'm not the fanboy for Lowrance. If there's a thread comparing the units I'll give my 2 cents. I can spell, and speak english. That being said, I understand what you are saying about calling people lazy at their jobs, and you have a point there. But if someone can force Rickie to stop his pursuit, then they could stop the HB wish list too. Then you might not have all the other things that they have "changed". And without Lowrance HDS, you'd never know a lot of the things on the wishlist exist. For the first years of SI, HB could put anything on the market and if there was a wish list, I bet it was small. Enter the HDS system and boom, there's features that HB users want. The same will occur for things that HB does, kind of like SI. How many years was SI on the Lowrance wish list? Several.Quote:

Remember when HB added an upgrade to their GPS puck? It was expensive, and didn't last long on the market. I think we all have some fun ribbing, and some times feelings get hurt, and we all jump in sometimes where we don't belong. Most of the time I think someone could mention the donut, or say donut in a thread, and it's really no big deal until someone makes a stink, then the thread starts on fire.

Yes I did...on the etech it was a very TIGHT fit. To be honest with you...I have played a little bit with it but when I added the LSS1 it has pretty much taken up all my time. The one thing I do notice is the difference between the 4000 and internal 3000 antenna's. For me and my location that arrow "flows like butter". The only thing I see that it has a problem with is a sudden turn of the boat. I have the 4000 puck about 1 1/2 away from the ducer which makes every waypoint pretty much spot on. I wanted to put it straight over the puck but Lowrance CS told me to keep it 3 ft away from the motor. I cheated some...measured the distance and its 31 inches. Love the ability to sidescan, stop, and mark something 40 or 50 ft away from the boat and then have it come up on my map (either on the console or the bow). Might be a shorter way to do it but my way of stopping the unit, back pedaling the picture and marking your spot takes a while. Then you gotta crank things back up. Still worth it though....Quote:

Well, I just moved my LSS-1 Ducer to the trolling motor, moved my LSS-1 to a compartment instead of under my console, and installed my NMEA2000 Network and LGC-4000. Can't wait to get out with it and fish some brush piles.Quote:
