Lake Atkins Slabs!!pics

Yesterday, J. Johnson and I went and fished Lake Atkins near Atkins, Ar. We found a spot that was just loaded with nice sized black crappie. We sat in one place and pulled in 36 and probably lost 10, including a 1 1/2 to 2 lber. Top was in 5 feet of water and we were fishing pearl crappie stingers 2 feet below corks. When I would close my eyes last night all I could see was those corks popping under!:)

Man,,ya'll ripped them,,Thats great, much better than I did today on Dardanelle...and how did you guys do today?

We didn't do any good at all. Went back to Atkins but it was covered up with people. We couldn't get to the spot where we caught them yesterday. Didn't do any good over there either.

Being hard headed,,I stayed till about 2:00 PM..I think I had 14,,and most were throw backs on any other day,,but I ate them suckers...lol

A 4 pounder came out of there a week or so age...just over 4#s

X-ring is correct. I seen the pics of a 3 3/4 caught around the 18th of this month and the next day a guy had a pic of a 4 lber!!!

Great catch! I've had some good catches outta that lake in years past. The cove right out of Lucky Landing used to be a good area this time of year. Probably still is at times.

Nice fish slabbandit!
I saw a picture of the guy holding the 4lb. WOW! That size fish will make all us crappie nuttballs go crazy!! Lucky landing is a good little crappie hole if the boat and bank traffic is not too bad. I wish I new of a few more good places to go on that lake. Thanks for sharing

We went out there last week. Talked to the guy who had caught the big 4lber. There were a ton of boats and a bunch of people on the bank. Seen two crappie caught in there within the two hours we were in there. Tried other spots of the lake but don't know what the heck we're doing anyways.

The boys an I went today before they go to school tomarrow. One of the guys seen us out there for the last week mask us to day if we has caught any fish this week. I felt bad but told him we had only caught two in the last 4 days. The man told us to hang out by his dock, we went in and brought us some fish he flad out and froze lol. Don't tell be I did not fill good leaving him. But was happy we going to have fish tomarrow.
