Hey Man,
Great minds think alike. I caught some perch and a couple of largemouths Friday and they were our Christmas dinner, along with Santee Potatoes, grilled asparagus, and hush puppies. Only problem was our weatherman swore we were not having any rain on Christmas Day and it rained all day. Had to cook in my shop behind the house .
Merry Christmas to all.

They were great what is a Santee Potatoe? We had baked white and sweet potatoes.
Santee Potaotes got their name from a dish one of our buds fixed when we camped or stayed in a cabin at Santee Cooper.
4# potatoes (peeled and cubed)
2# onions (chopped)
1 stick butter
salt and pepper
Line a baking pan with enough foil to wrap around potatoes.
Mix potaoes and onions in pan, salt and pepper to taste.
Place butter in top and seal foil over top.
Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour, don't peek until done.
Try it sometime, real simple but always a hit and very good.

that's truman lake tators ;) it's great on the grill or over the fire, just have to check them.it takes so long you can leave them while you do other stuff.for some of us substitute lowfat spray butter and sea salt.....we don't peel ours, just wash them.
Taters, peppers, and onions with a few pats of butter in foil on the barbie an all time great grilling item here. I bet those fish were good ripnlips.Thumbs Up
Thanks I will try it. Have done something simular but add a yellow squash and a zuccinni. Wrap in foil on grill. We call them yukon potatoes.
Most any veggies are great steamed on the grill, especially when peppers and onions are included. During the gardening season we do alot of squash too.Thumbs Up
Lookin good man
