Kieth, I know many people don't know it and even I can not believe it , But I feel like I don't have enought time to do things now.
Winter time can be a hard time to stop work, due to "winter time blaw's" that many people get , so what out for that. Wish things had not changed for me and I didn't have to move back to richmond ( make it my home base) . I really wanted to get up with you and learn more about yor fishing style.. AND BDR ( reading just aint nothing like doing it) I hear crappie have moved back up-lake and hitting well!
Keith- One of the big changes should be more frequent short fishing trips. Your schedule will be up to you, your doctors, and the weatherman. Even on days when you have medical appointments, you're so close to BDR that you can pop in for a short trip when the weather's OK. You'll also have more time to keep up with online discussions--including professional groups. If you're up to extra time behind the wheel, there are lots of interesting places in Virginia and the surrounding states--very likely you've put off trips to them over the years.
There is so many retired guys in here, that you can just blend right in. You've always "worked" for government, so the change should not really be drastic.
Enjoy yourself. Come see me.

Retirment beats work, hands down. I wake up every mornin and hear the fish callin to me "Come play with us", so I go. even "workin" one day a wk as a fishin guide is enjoyable, plus it pays for my fishin the other 5 or 6 days....
kieth enjoy your retirement. fish as much as you are able. still praying for ya. tite lines JIM.B
It was great until my wife retired too.
You just have to pee more often. That and throw away the calendar.
