Looks good on the forecast for Talquin. I am looking forward to it. I want to show Rawhide how to troll.

Yes the forecast is looking good up at Blackshear too.
I have fished Blackshear years ago when I lived in Albany. I plan on hitting it this winter. What facilities do they have at the Smoak Creek Bridge now?
I am thinking about leaving today for Talquin for a day or 2 before I go to Tampa this weekend...Sure is hard to stay here at work!!!!
At the 300 bridge there is only a small ramp & limited parking. There is (or was) a bait store back in Warwick on your left coming from the South. Should be ok if you get there early. If you come up a few more miles (past Striplings & Salt Lick stores) and turn left on Coney Road, then a few more miles take a left on Cedar Creek Road (just over the small bridge) there is another one lane ramp with limited parking but you will be in the middle of the lake. Shorter run to a lot of good areas.

Fishing with Blindhog is like fishing with an 8 yr. old with ADD. But he does pack a good lunch......
Should be ok. I haven't heard of anything lately. Unless you just want to fish the South end, drive the 15 minutes or so around to the State Park or Radz BBQ & then you can fish & eat on the water.

Eating over the water sounds nice.
Radz # is 229-853-2463.....may want to call 1st.....they may be odd hours or closed some for the off season....but if they are open you need to get some of the best BBQ around
You Guys are making me hungry.
I always figure single digit winds is desirable and the weather channel shows a forecast of 6mph winds for Talquin this weekend which would be great.
Hey Litewirehooker, if I get a picture of Rawhide behind my boat this weekend and post it will folks put me in the same league as you or do I need to fish a little more?
After this last weekend of The Deadliest Catch single digit wind is child's play...;)
I hear the fish are ON
Should have been out there today! Perfect weather and a great bite!
gonna try and get off friday afternoon and head to d lake.
Trying to keep these Talquin slabs a secret. The wind was O.K. today and the bite was good. We (no Mercy) and myself managed 23 this morning and came in to work on Camper and Golf Cart. Heard of others that caught 35..........We been Drinking Ginger Ale and Mixer to help get rid of the cold.....and other reasons. Headed to Angles tonight. For Chip Wells, the fish are still from the Iron Curtain to the Dam.
I plan on fishing that spot Sat morning. See y'all there!
