Who else has it?
I was hoping some other guys would try it and then tell me if it's worth 9.99
Rickie
Its worth ten times that. Best money I have ever spent on fishing stuff. Get if you won't be sorry. I just had a ? About the new update.
Here's what a screen shot looks like.

I have it on my iPhone and iPad. Handy at times.
Location services off to scroll around with out going back to your current position ????? That's how mine is acted the update.
i have it for my smart phone it's great this will do until i buy my GPS down scan unit i highly recommend if u don't have gps fish finder.
I have it, and can attest the GPS is very accurate. Dropped brush Friday on spots I had pre-marked with my smart phone, once on the lake it was spot on!
Is the app itself a GPS...??
Rickie
Can wp's be saved? It shows track and route buttons...how do those work?
yep it track save waypoints GPS you can preplan your whole fishing trip it's well worth 9.99 any more.
I use mine as much off of the water as on. Its great when talking fishing with somebody and they are trying to tell you about a certain spot. Pull out the phone, and usually they are so impressed, they actually want to see if they can see the area they are trying to describe. I've used it to show family and friends places for them to try.
Have also used it to send a screen shot of exactly where I am on the lake or especially Red River, when having somebody meet up.
Data stays in phone memory, so cell service is not required to be able to access the maps, which is really nice in remote areas. Updates are free.
$9.99 divided by 2 years of use, well worth it in my opinion.
Trying to tell somebody exactly where you are, versus sending them a screen shot of a map of where you are, should an emergency come up, could be priceless.
Is is possible to enter wps as longitude and latitude...
Or is it just touch the screen to place a wp...??
Rickie
Here's a pic of the search by long and lat. You just enter the cords and it will show you where that is on the map.

Here's some YouTube videos about it.
Navionics iPhone App Review and Tutorial - YouTube
Whats the difference in the 9.99 app and the 14.99 app...??
Rickie
$5.00 lol I don't know.
Is there a way to export the wps onto external media...??
Rickie
I have it, it's worth the $9.99. The only problem I have with it is that maxxed out it only zooms into 172 ft scale. Wouldn't be good enough to get over a brushpile, but that's why I have Navionics chips in my HDS units. I really like it for exploring lake structure when I should be working LOL!
.
If you have an iPhone and are a fisherman or boater,
$9.99 a stupid silly price for what this app does. It's
worth more than that just as a back-up for you main
GPS.
I was truly amazed at how well it works. I was doubly
amazed that you can download all the lakes in the U.S.
for no charge ! Many of these lakes have 2 foot elevation
contour.
It's true, it will not zoom in as close as you can get with
a regular GPS, or even this same program running on the
iPad (I have that too), but hey, this is truly "Batman"
technology if you ask me.
good fishing, Chris
.
It's a cool app, but the only time I could see me using it would be fishing with someone else and wanting to fish some of my spots. I have Ozi Explorer with KY and Barkley lake charts on computer so I can check out new areas of the lakes and set way points to load on my memory card.
is the ipod screen easy to see in the sunlight outside?
yep trust me for 10 bucks u will more than happy.
This is both my iPhone4 and my iPad loaded with the same map on
the same spot at full zoom. iPad is a little bigger but not as much
as I thought. The main difference is that you see more of the map.
This created the illusion in my mind that the iPad zoom level was
much higher. The scale on both of them reads 173 feet, but the
scale on the iPad is 12mm wide and the scale on the iPhone is 10mm
wide. So you are looking at maybe a 20% difference at most.

I'm not up to date on all of these electronic toys. ( my kids say I'm still living in the 19th. century) Anyways My wife gave me a Kindel for my birthday. Are there any lake apps for it?
Thank you Cat fan and Doctorxring. Maybe sometime in the future I will be able to get a phone with this capability
I got this app on my android phone and tablet. For 10 bucks on both devices it is well worth the investment. I use it when I am sitting around wanting to plan my next days trip from the sofa. The contour data is better than the base map that comes in the depth finders I have on the boat. On good weather days I will take it on the boat and pan around looking for areas similar to what I am fishing as I troll.
I got an ipad for Christmas. Would I have to purchase any software to run the app on it?
I just got this app on my phone. Was hoping someone could tell me why I can only zoom in to 0.3 mile? It isn't a very user friendly app.
162' on mine.
Maybe it's just my phone, but in my opinion the app is a piece of junk. Started out being able to view the map, but now I can't get anything. Uninstalled and reinstalled app 3 times and still won't show me the maps. I wouldn't waste the money on it.
