We played like crap, and almost beat IU and their ref's!!!
Hats off to the Hoosiers. Hope we meet up again.
Got to make FREE THROWS.
Losing early in the season and not having the bullseye on your back as a #1 ranking is really not too bad a thing IMO..The only bad thing is losing to Indiana..lol
Good point! :)
Let's have a rematch at Rupp. ;) UNC beat us last year early too but couldn't handle us in the tourny. Hope they wind up in our bracket! This will make UK hungry.
Those pro prospect players on KY team were too busy signing autographs to KY fans before the game and didn't want to work up a sweat in warm-ups. Bunch of blue collar hoosiers came to play. We have been eating humble pie way too long up here...since Bobby left. Good to see Ky eat some humble pie for a change. The loss will only make you stronger though...as someone mentioned. Good to get that loss out of the way....and get back down to earth. You can't win a game on reputation and just throwing your jock strap out on the floor.

The Cats didn't deserve to win that game, I just hate that they lost to Indiana. This time of year rankings don't mean much, that #1 just gives everyone else a target.
Go ahead and crow now guys, we'll be looking for you in March. :D
You have to make free throws down the stretch. And you must play hard as a team every game even if you are an all american. This was a needed lose to inforce these points.Congratulations Indiana you were the best TEAM Yesterday.
LOL locator you blamed the refs when KY lost in the NCAA last year too.
I think KY was a bit overconfident. They had these huge smiles at the start of the game when they took a lead that got quickly erased. I definitely think KY has more talent at least for this year anyway. IN has some great freshmen recruited for next year but as we all know talent doesn't win games they have to play the game.
Refs didn't cost UK the game, they lost the game on missed free throws. They had a chance to win a game they had no business even being close at the end. UK or UI fan aside, if you think that game was called evenly on both sides you need to sit down and watch it again.
They lost ... in the Final Four ... to the eventual national champion. IU was sitting at home sticking pins in Kelvin Sampson voodoo dolls. :D
UK will be fine. Their best player was on the bench with foul trouble, Jones played terribly, they missed free throws, IU shot the lights out, and it STILL took a last second shot to beat KY.
Indiana played out their butts and Ky played like crap, what was up with Terrence Jones? Go ahead and celebrate your victory, I understand why you are so excited...you haven't had a win to celebrate in 9 years. I would be excited too if I was you. You would of thought you won the National Title the way the gym looked 15 seconds after the game was over. You guys having shirts made?
[QUOTE=BGCrappieCatcher;1724654 You guys having shirts made?[/QUOTE]
Now that's funny!
IU must have gotten the idea of rushing the court from watching a crappy UK team beat a 5-7 Tennessee football team and fans rushing the field. And yes UK did have t-shirts made. At least IU was celebrating beating a no. 1 ranked team.
It's not KY's fault that Tenn had a lousy team ... AND we were celebrating the end of a 26yr streak of being owned. WE were a 5-7 team, as well ... we just happened to be the better 5-7 team, that day.
Anytime a non-ranked team beats a #1 "ranked" team (however prematurely ranked as such) ... the fans have every right to celebrate that victory. But, it won't be cataloged as anything but a early season upset win for IU, & never hold the significance of the last second shot by Laettner.
I'm not going to let the IU victory get to me ... we'll lose some more games, and maybe even to a less talented team than IU. What doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.
... cp
You were correct in your original statement locator. Refs didn't decide the game just like the refs did not knock KY out of the NCAA last year. It's easier to say the refs lost the game than to admit you could of played harder or shot better to win the game. IU played harder and had some luck. The game also meant more to the IU players than the KY players. I never did say IU was more talented now did I.
Oh I thought KY lost to Virginia last year in the NCAA. Didn't Duke beat Butler for the chanpionship?
Ky lost To UConn in the final four. UConn went on to beat Butler in championship game. The previous year Ky lost to West Virgina in the Elite * and Duke won it all two years ago.
I feel we have a great chance of going far and even a decent chance of winning it all..We have the talent and we have a great coach..its December and when March comes around we should be alot stronger..Bee
Thanks Whiskers and BGCrappieCatcher.
I think Kentucky, won by 32 points just last night, well it looks like they are already playing better.
IU won on a luck shot at the end of the game, IMO if they would of missed the 3 pointer, then they would have lost. If UK would have just hit a few of their free throws then UK would of won.
So, if IU and UK meet again this season, don't be shocked to see UK put up a massive win, I hope by 20 or 30 points, LOL :D
Justtttt gettttt overrrrrr ittttt!!!!!!!!!!!!
UK is still a world class school, and has one of the top Basketball programs on Earth.
I have a feeling UK will go very far this season. :D
Uk is a very good school and there are a lot of them in ky.-ind.-ill.-ohio.
How can you say a wide open 3 point jumper is a luck shot? What was lucky for IN is that KY didn't knock down the free throws.
