They are using the alabama rig (multiple swim baits)
That rig looks crazy !! But it's catching fish
Caught all the fish. Pretty bad when all the guys in the top ten had to use the rig all day every day to keep up
Its called a umbrella rig ihave tried them but not on a coe lake, never had any luck with em. Think they are illegal in coe lakes.
Clays Bait & Tackle in tupelo sells em for $20. Then ya gotta put the swivels and swim baits on em. You end up with close to $70 on the end of your line. Most of those swim baits they using are $5-$8 a piece according to clay.
Well if it ain't illegal it should be . 70 dollars a pop . Like minner would say i'm just saying .
I watched a replay of FLW Outdoors today and that Alabama rig is something else. A fellow geezer, Paul Elias, won the Guntersville tourney with 20 bass weighing over 100 lbs. He finished 17 lbs over 2nd place. Paul lives about 30 miles from here, he won the Bassmaster Classic back in 1982. They sell them at Bass Tackle Depot for $24.99. If I was a bass chunker, I'd get a couple.

what you use as a rod? One of those Rods they use for deep sea trolling? That's ALOT of weight
They said it was like throwing a softball all day long
At the weigh in Paul Elias said "I'm wore slap out". Lol It comes on again at noon on Sunday, hopefully its the same episode.
There's an article about them in this month's MS Sportsman.
