Putting my boat away for the season.
My wife's family has been devistated by illness, and I don't feel comfortable getting out of town for even a day. Her sister passed away about five weeks ago from a brain tumor, and her younger sister has been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. She spent 13 days in the ICU a couple of weeks ago. I took the wife up to be with her, and pulled a few all nighters in her hospital room so that the rest of the family could get a little rest. I am pretty close to all of them, as the wife and I raised one brother and one sister, and I was 15 minutes away from delivering the youngest ones first daughter in the back seat of my car. (45 years ago). On top of that, when the sister with the brain tumor was diagnosed, her brother got a flu shot to keep from exposing her, and came down with a variant of Guillan Balre syndrome, and seems to be slowly wasting away. He can walk short distances, but does most of his getting around in a wheel chair. He is a great guy, and the wife and I put him through high school. I am more like a dad than a brother in law, and it is tough to watch him waste away. I am going to sit this fall out, and hope for the best. You guys go out and catch a boatload and I will cheer lead.
