Anybody ever catch any crappie up by Tracy Owen Station Park during the spawn? From what I could see from the road there were some pilings located in the lake. The water seemed to be a little murky up on that end also.

There are a few up there;). Never seen them spawn there but during late spring and summer they can be around the pilings at dusk. There are few good spawning flats up there but they require a boat to reach them.

you can get a good view of it from maps.google.com look at the satelite image of it and you can zoom in pretty far too. looks like there is a main dock that is pretty long and then a bunch of little docks maybe for tyin up boats and the end of it. how deep is the water off of the very end of the dock?
at the end of the dock the depth is only about 3'-4' during the summer. all i have caught out of there is little pumpkinseeds and perch. slabking, have you actually caught a crappie around there. i fish that dock all the time and have never seen a sign of a crappie. i have caught a few bass though......
i have a feeling that the key word in what he said was "evening" i just watched this show about crappie fishing that said after the spawn they relate to structure out from where they spawned but they will still go in shallow to the weed beds to feed in the evening or at night
the only time i ever fish that dock is in the evening.
o, well nevermind then
The general area can be good at times. Never fished from the dock myself but I do fish up there at certain times of the year. You'd be surprised how shallow those fish will go at night......err.....I mean....dusk. fish up there from dusk and into the night;). Not wanting to say too much but....there are crappie up north.
Slab...what a guy...
Hey crappieking is your name Robert?
slab:thanks for the info :D
koke: that is my name.
saw that sweet stringer on the weekly report, those are some seriously fat perch, and nice crappie and bluegill
Sweet i got it rite!... I hate you.
the perch are the ones that surprised me the most. the reason why they were so fat is because they were all full of eggs. i didnt think the perch in there would get up to 11". those fish sure made a good fish fry last night :DQuote:

On another note...what the hell is up with this weather?
Am I missing something? Is there a weekly report section somewhere on the site I am unaware of? :confused:Quote:

Thanks. That is a nice stringer!
do you guys think it would be worth it to try for some smallies at coulon? or any other shore spots. i think i might go out if the weather isn't to bad.
yea they are catching all the fish from what i have heard in less than 15 feet of water
I spent most of Sunday out on Washington, didn't make it over to Union though. No bass caught and only one solid bite in 20 feet of water on a rockpile. I did catch a few fat perch for dinner though. They've moved up to 30 foot rockpiles. The wind gust where over 20mph so I couldn't make over to the area of the lake where the bass are up shallower. Had to change my boxers when I made it back to the ramp:D. I damn there kissed the ground when I made it back safe.Quote:
