I'm in the market for one. Wondering what yall got. My folks have a min pin mix that is one of the best and smartest dogs they've ever owned, so I'm leaning that way. I mean, whens the last time you've seen a dog that enjoys letting 3 year olds push it around in a stroller?

Wouldn't take anything for our Lab, wont ever be without one again. If you dove hunt swome its a big plus too, she loves to retreve. They shed tho so if you got carpet flooring that part wouldnt be good.
We have 2 Shih-Tzu's and love them and they DO NOT shed!!!
I will second the idea of a Lab. I had mine for 14 yrs before I had to have her put down this past spring. She was the best dog I have ever had. They are very loyal and great with kids.
Labs are great, but too big and shed too much for inside. I will own one when we get a bigger yard
I would suggest a fiest/rat terrier mix like I got. He is small and smart as they come. He was easy to house break. He is good with the kids, and a good fishing dog. He can do all the tricks, lay down, play dead, turn around, roll over, speak, shake hands, blah blah blah, I even taught him how to shut the house door so I can let him out and leave it cracked and he will come in when he is ready. He will not shut it on his own, but if I tell him to he will. He is pretty aggressive toward other dogs though and that might not be good in a subdivision. And NEVER EVER stick your hand in my truck when he is in there, you may draw back a nub. But if you let him out, he is just as friendly as ever.
I'm with Spiderwoman, I have a Shih-Tzu and a Peek-a-poo, they are both great but the Peek sheds.
I have a jack russell / rat terrier mix. She's a great dog, loves people and only weighs 8 lbs. She's getting kinda old and can't see but still knows her way around the house. I have had a couple labs too and they are good dogs. I will probably get another Lab when the time comes.
No pics of your babies!? Shame on you
I found a feeler that has a min pin and a couple of boston/rat terrier mix in calhoun city. Hard to picture what the mix will look like.
I love my rat terror. http://tapatalk.com/mu/62ef0121-7df0-a2ea.jpg

Dogs are too much trouble. I just kick DD when ever I get the urge. Plus, I don't have to feed him.
Wannabe...

Mix of jack russell and rat terrier. Smartest little dog i've ever owned. Sometimes you think they understand everything you say. They shed though. Poodles is about the only dog I know that doesnt shed some though.
I found another one that doesnt shed (I think).RoflRoflRoflRofl
Aint much on the looks depeartment but this one doesnt shed either...DohRoflRofl
Ask minner what he has. An English Bulldog is the most laid back, child friendly dog out there. I had one for 12 years and he loved to play with my neices and nephews.
My boxer absolutely LOVES playing and children have a ball playing with her. I wouldnt dare try keeping her inside though...she's WAY too energetic.
English bulldogs are great, I have a cocker spaniel now, she is the sweetest dog I have ever been around but is dumb as a rock. I have always had golden retrievers and they are awesome! Probably gonna get me a new golden pup this winter.

Half Jack Russell and Half Rat Terrier (Patches) 8 lbs
Speakin of my dog, I carried him out today and he treed his first wild squirrel that I've been able to see. He's treed all summer in the yard, but them are almost tame. Made me proud. He's 1.5 years old.

my vote is for a boxer, very protective of the family, very loyal & good with kids, love to play, high energy until they are about 3-4 yr old, on my 2nd one now. 1st one lived just short of her 11th b day. they do shed tho. have a weiner/terrier mix with lots of gray I'll ship your way for nothing.
we have had 2 mini-dacshunds. they are great house dogs.
I wont be without my lab, if she didnt shed it would be better but she is the smartest dog I have ever been around. Easy to train as well, never used the potty in the house since I got her at 8 weeks old, dont even crap in her own yard, goes to the pasture to take a crap.
Jack Russell super smart and super loyal
I know you know my vote. You've met my "tree rat" as wb has previously put it. I've owned German shepherds, a vizsla, various muts, but am real pleased with our Boston Terriers. Absolutely all dogs are great though. I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever breed you choose.
got one i will give ya. jack russel, 1 1/2 yrs old. strickly outside dog. loves everyone. only problem if you have squirrels she will wake you up every morning barkin at em. she is the one on the right. bout 16 pounds or so.
