Wow
I remember the first time my buzzer went off, but I just happened to have a jug of oil right there in the boat. Guess I'm only half gewber. Now I remember to check it every time I put gas in the boat.
Gewber, gewber, gewber!!!!RoflRoflRoflRofl
Get a 4 stroker and dont worry about it no more!
It woulda been crazy to have met her at the boat ramp to get the oil. I guess WB just wanted to see how well G3T's climbing skills were.
You mean he doesn't keep oil in the boat? OMG, you got to be kidding me. What's he gonna do if he's way up the lake and his oil pump injector stops working? I ALWAYS took a gallon of oil with me when mine was working so I can add it straight to the gas just in case.
Hey...gewber....ya ain't gonna get a warning when your oiler stops oiling. Pffft.
BRG, I'll take 2. Order me a 150HP non SHO and then a 300 Non SHO and put it 'em on the shelf for me. I'll be along after a while to get 'em.

ummm YEH you are. Mine did
I stand corrected.
Mercury Oil Injection System - Moderated Discussion Areas
Apparently, there is a magnetic sensor on the nylon shaft of the oiler that sends a 5 volt pulse every 2 revolutions of the shaft.
Still, it's a stinky way to monitor the sensor. Never have understood why they didn't put a flow sensor on the supply line and be done with it.

Why not just do it the "old timey way" and mix the gas and oil when you put it in. I ain't believing that you would rather rely on a couple of wires and some electricity, I guess 5 volts every 2 revolutions to be exact ( you gewber), than mix it correctly on the front end. It takes 1 extra minute to mix it yourself and can remove a whole lotta headaches later, or at least 1 PO'ed wife and a fishing buddies ankle.Doh
I took the oiler off the 150 Yammie when I got it years ago and just mix it myself. I was worried the oiler would stop one day, and with my luck the engine would lock up 10 miles downriver.
SAY IT, come on now SAY IT. DD was right
I mix it straight in now since mine went out on me. I feel ALOT safer with it
One problem with pre-mix is it's getting the same mix no matter the operating condition. Teh auto oiler is variable. Running 50 to 1 at all rpms and all atmospheric conditions leads to buildup on the rings and kablooeys. Most kablooeys are caused from sticking rings and not oiler failures.
OK, OK DD.
DD was not incredibly wrong and unbelievably stewpit with his reply.
There....ya happy now?

close enough Brotha. Minner NO, I don;t but I measure it carefully based on the ammount of gas I put in. Course then I have to add Stabil and every 4th tank I put Sea foam in
