Anybody mechanically inclined?

My little ole 95 tacoma has it's first issue. Although she still runs great, all of the weather stripping around the truck has about had it. Over the last few years I've been noticing foam in my air vents in the dash. Well a couple months back I went to change the air from the face vents to defrost and the truck will no longer redirect the air. I'm assuming all of the foam came off of some air redirectin thingamaflotchy. This truck is my snowmobile in the winter, so I need my defrost.

Somebody tell me something informative.

That foam has probably got the re-direct door blocked.

30 grand will get you a 2011 Tacoma with a working defrost. :-)

Don't thing you need a mechanic, think you'll need a surgeon to dissasemble the dash down to the firewall and remove and replace the foam.

Or get you a new GMC Sierra Z71 4x4, in Stealth Gray Metallic with 5.3l v-8 and 6 speed automatic transmission, etc,etc,etc.

I get too mad to elaborate further...sorry. I'm not so great with the political correctness. My bluntness is a character flaw that I have been unable to resolve over the years. Don't mean to be ugly, I just call it like I see it.

I lurv me some silverado, but I will not buy a GM nor Chrysler product until the gubment is out of it. And I recommend everyone to do the same.

X1000000. I've owned 2 Fords, 3 Chevrolet and 3 Dodge trucks. Love the Dodges but I wont buy another one right now. Had trouble with both Fords but if I buy a new truck, I would go back to them.

I'm speaking hypothetically of course. Ya'll know I'm way too cheap to buy anything new......and try my best not to have to buy anything at all as a matter of fact.

Good local folks sold it to me, and will service it for me. Lots of GM parts made in MS, so that's my .02. BTW, I wish the government would get out of it too, but I won 't let that keep me from getting what I want.

Mine may lay down on me tomorrow, but I ain't had no trouble out of the last 4 I've owned. And if ones gonna tear up on somebody it would be me as much as I drive. As far as the guberment, I'd just as soon as them try to keep a few jobs in America as I had give the money to sorry bass terds that won't werk. what's the difference?

You buncha thread jackin terds. I'm not sure if I'm up to ripping the dash out by myself or not.

I was hoping somebody would either cough up:
a) dash schematics
b) part #'s and pictures of my problem part
c) phone # of a trusty el cheapo contact to fix it for me

That it to the Toyota Dealership, I'm sure they can fix it for you.

There is an actuated door that opens and closed when you switch from vent to defrost. If it is just foam stuck take some compressed air and try to blow it out. If not take it to someone if you don't the dash will rattle from now on.

Sounds like a cable has come undone. Should be just under the bottom of the dash.

some are vacume operated ,on my 96 mustang it was a broke vacume line under the hood,dont know how the yotas work though
