If you increase the overlay, the 2D will show more of the brush pile you are looking at. Maybe this will help some..
See the white stuff above the white bottom line on the 2d (right screen). That is di overlay from the di imaging on the 2d screen. Helps define stuff such as fishes, structure, etc. in the 2d blobs. You can select the strength of overlay (up to 100%). I am at 65% overlay.

did anybody have any problems with the June 2011 HDS update4.0 etc etc? i put mine on the card updated the lowrance and now my lowrance will do NOTHING!
I didn't have any problems. I think there is a newer update than 4.0 but I haven't done that one. I put the 4.0 on my 8 and a friend of mines 5.
That overlay looks nice. How close are the transducers to each other? And is the LSS one higher or lower than the 2d?
I use US2 and imaging transducer mounted on trolling motor. They are about 3 inches apart. Higher or lower, I do not understand??
I was thinking transom and whether one was above the other. You answered my question though, they are on same plane. Thanks.
