Boy, there are some true 'artists' at making crappie jigs out there. Some look too nice to let fish tear them up. I can see some of them made 10X larger and displayed in a frame on the wall.
I am kind of liking some new chenille I just got. Nothing really fancy.

Thank you!
Some of the big stuff like the bottom one even though it's big some colors kind of lay back when wet. A few colors of it are more stiff and don't lay down as much. My personal favorites are this silver and probably the Black which are both soft. Well I also like the Rainbow and wen wet it's colors show even better than when dry.
The top jig is a 1/32 and #2 is 1/16 for size.

They all like too purty to even fish with!
I can't do em that fancy but these are a few I've liked " look wise" besides split ring on last one. Still need pliers.

Still learning.
You can put that split ring on without pliers if you want. It may not be as easy, but if you have some pretty sharp tweezers it will do.
Thx. May try that next time. My hands don't work that good these days.
All nice ties!!!!!! but I wonder if we tie to amaze ourselves instead of the fish sometimes.
you guys are doing a fantastic job with your jigs.
Ourselves for sure.
Or at least that's my opinion.
And jigs are a reflection of materials you own for the most part.
ANYBODY with a partially functioning brain and helping hand, can tie just about any jig ive seen.
It's like your school clothes all over again.
Some are more expensive and someone will always have more of this and that, but how you wear them will differ only slightly. But the expensive stuff can easily be substituted if you're looking for function.
I like seeing new techniques more than anybody bc that changes my thought process.
Best jig I've ever used involves thread and one piece of marabou.
I think fly tying is a much diff story, but it's more artistically oriented to me.
But then again I have no need for a fly rod......YET.
I'll change an opinion tomorrow and come back n shoot myself down.
I strive for both, lol.... even though it's probably been done historically.... I have tied some funky jigs that have done really well....
Just got an order in today from Crazy Angler...had to try something new to me.

First time for Guinea. I also got a natural gray squirrel tail...I'll have to try it tomorrow night.
Those are all very nice. Here are some of my favorites that I tie.

Looking good guys!
Ship you think you have enough of them? LOL J/K
I am just as bad about that.
Welcome Stickmarsh to the jig tying forum, I'm glad you took me up on the invite. We have some AWESOME jig tyers here as you can see, yourself included. If you haven't noticed, at the top of the forum, there's a sticky for jig pictures. You can scan through some real artwork in there as well. Hope you like what you see and visit this forum often.

I do believe all of you guys should be proud of your work, excellent talent being shown. Congrats to all.
Some real good ties and ideas y'all are sharing. Nice work everyone.
Nice jigs gentlemen!
I never have enough. I am usually giving them away or losing them Skip. Besides tying and dabbling in plastic baits is therapy for this old man. When I am not out fishing then I am wishing I was and doing the next best thing....piddling with baits and jigs in the workshop.
